Nassau County Cops say the suspects broke in through the back door of 345 Central Park Road just after 3:30 a.m. and terrorized the family inside.
The homeowners awoke to a noise downstairs when they were confronted by three gunmen, wearing masks. A neighbor describes what he was told by the victim.
Carlos Pereda, Neighbor: 'I think he heard the noise downstairs, came downstairs and they had broken in through the back. The kids were asleep upstairs and they tied them up (the couple).. that's the last I heard. He just spoke to me real quickly. I guess he's inside talking with the detectives right now.'
W T F? that poor family. i hope that no one was SERIOUSLY hurt.

I just found out this morning a woman I work with was robbed last month. Luckily she wasn't home, but lost a lot of heirloom jewelry. She lives right off of the Southern State Pkwy in West Hempstead. About an hour after her robbery someone down the street was robbed also.

Last night, police said an attempted home invasion by two men also took place in Plainview. Suspects fled in a white Lincoln Town Car without getting into the Ann Street house, police said. It was too early to determine if this was connected to any of the other break-ins, police said.

I know my Dad and brother live in Plainview and my dad is disabled. I've been worried sick. We've asked friends to sporadically stop by my Dad's house so there is no general pattern as to the comings and goings at his house.

This is really frightening. I don't live near Plainview but some of the robberies took place in Old Westbury which is close enough. I kept hearing all sorts of weird noises last night. I know it was all in my head but still scary.
