In Maui, what is the best area to stay in... is it Kaanapali or Lahaina? Where are the best restaurants/nightlife etc...
Same for Kauai, is Lihue a good area for things to do?

ka'anapoli and lahaina are close by each other.....i think either area would be great---do a search for the official hawaii honeymooners thread started by lizlen a couple of months ago

if I remember correctly, Lahaina is the town, so thats where the bars and restaurants are.
Ka'anapoli is all resorts - so all bars and restaurants are in the resorts themselves. I would stay in Ka'anapoli and make trips to Lahaina.
