Another Invitation Question

Hey Girls,

Just trying to figure out what I'll actually need in my invitation package...? What do you girls usually get?

The invitations, Response Card, Save the date? I don't know too much about this

What is a reception card?

Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Another Invitation Question

A reception card informs the guests that a reception is to follow the ceremony and tells them where and what time.

We also included a direction card, some girls include accomodation cards.

accomodation card is where you block the rooms for your OOT guests

Re: Another Invitation Question

if your reception is at the same place you are getting married you dont need a reception card.

I did an invitation, response card, direction card, and my registry information.

Re: Another Invitation Question

This is how we did it:

1. Invite- Obviously

2. Response card with envelope

3. Direction card to RH only

4. Inner envelope

5. Outer envelope

Other things to get/consider:

1. Accomodation card - Hotel you have a block at.

2. Reception card - Girls do this if the ceremony and reception are in 2 different places. (They even do it if the reception is in the same place) My ceremony and RH are the same place so we didnt do a RH card, nor did we even write on the invite 'Reception immediatly after ceremony'. In this case you have to do whats right for you.

Hope this helps.

Re: Another Invitation Question

i had pocketfolds, so you usually don't get an inner envelope for those. I got:

- invitations
- outer envelope w/return address on back flap
- response card
- response envelope w/our address on front
- reception card

i used the direction cards that the hall and hotel provided - one less thing to pay for!

Re: Another Invitation Question

I used a kit from Michael's and they only provided invitation, outer envelope, RSVP card and its envelope. and that's all you really need.

with only outer envelope you address it with all the names of those invited rather than listing those on an inner envelope.

married at church and reception obviously elsewhere but I simply added the phrase Reception to follow at RH at 6PM on 6the bottom of the invite.
I included the RH direction card and I figured everyone could get the idea from that

it simplified things and was lighter and saved me postage - - went with only a 41 cent (at the time) stamp.
