What do you do if you invited someone 'with guest' and they respond for 2 people but don't supply the guests name? Do you just write ... George Clooney and Guest? Or just George Clooney? Or do you call the person (if you have that relationship) and ask who they are bringing? FH wants to call because he thinks 'and Guest' is rude...who gave him the right to think about wedding stuff?
For some reason I'm on a George Clooney kick today!!!

Re: Another place card question...
If George Clooney was at my wedding, he'd obviously be the groom and know where to sit.

Note to self....do not open up replies to your own post when FH is walking by!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He saw your response and said...'well if that's what LIW said then that's what we do!!!!!!!!'
I'll just have him make the calls or send the emails!!!

me too Amanda...I would prolly call and find out the guests name. BUT they might not know who their guest is until closer to the wedding...soooo...you may not want to call too early.

Re: Another place card question...
i would just do name and guest, ive seen it done b4 and i dont think its tacky because if u knew who the person was bringing you would have just put it on the invitaitons, and not write to so and so and guest ya no?

Re: Another place card question...
I would definitely contact the person to find out who they are bringing ... its much nicer than putting 'and Guest' on the placecards.
I think 'and Guest' is ok on the invitations because you're offering the person invited the option of bringing someone with them, but you don't necessarily know who'd they'd be bringing with them at that point.
By the time they've responded to you that they are bringing someone, they *should* know who that someone is.
