OK who is doing to video montage thingie from the DJ. my cousin had it and I thought it was cute and my dj has someone going around taking digital pictures which get shown on the plasma screen above the DJ. do you think this is a great idea or belongs at a sweet 16? I liked it but my my reception hall manager said most weddings dont do it. what are your thoughts?

we're doing it. i went to a wedding that had it and thought it was sooo cute. they had a projector though; we're having plasma screens. p.s. perhaps it is a bit self-absorbed, but it's our day!!

We're definitely doing the photo montage with pics of us growing up and dating pics....but I'm undecided as to whether I want pics on the screen of my guests from the CH or from everyone dancing....some people might get embaressed by it....so I'm not sure if I want it....although FH does, so this will be something we'll probably end up compromising on!!

we did it and i am so glad we did. People were raving on how they got to see pics on the screen. We had a montage of us growing up. I edited it myself and the DJ played it for me. We played it during dinner.....throughout the reception the dj was taking pics and putting them on the screens
When I got back from my HM my friends and fam were like o wait til you see the pic of such and such...your photographer did a good job...i was like ummmmm that was just the dj. We called the dj right away and bought all the pics at the wedding. OMG i love them just as much as my proofs.
In my opinion I LOVE going to wedding with this and I am happy I did it to mine. It was raved about!
Plus the screens and montages were good for the older crowd. We had a lot of immobile grandparents and they got to see pictures of what was going on and they had live video feed so they didt feel left out of the party. My grandma LOVED seeing the pics of me growing up
During the daddy dance i put together a montage of me and pops and he was watching while we were dancing and he was HYSTERICAL crying. He said that was a sweet thing to do. My dad asked me for a copy of the montage i made he loved it so much (my dj did the montage too but I wanted mine a certain way and i know how to make the montages so it was a DIY for me)

We just booked our DJ last night and we are doing it. It will be initially shown right before we make our entrance into the reception hall and then a replay at dinner. I think it will be about 30-40 pics at 5 seconds each pic, so it is not that time consuming and overbearing to the wedding itself.
I personally don't think it will be a distraction.

same here. it's a nice touch i suppose, but just not for me...especially for the extra amount you have to pay. but if you like it--go for it!

This was included with my photographer (since our hall already has the plasmas) one of the DJs I went to wanted $2300!!!!! I wouldn't spend that kind of money.
We are only doing pics of FH and I (childhood til now), we're not taking pics of the guests. And we are possibly doing a short re-cap of teh ceremony.
