I was seriously considering not having a guest book. Is that tacky. I know personally when Im at weddings I hate when I get the guest book and I usually write a generic congrats and best wishes. I write any sentimental things in the card. What do you all think

I'm not doing a guest book...When I go to weddings I never ever look for/sign a guest book...I may do one of those fishbowl things were people put in their words of wisdom, not sure yet...

I think thats fine - you could always do a signing board too if you want something different...

Re: another post got me thinking
Wasn't planning on doing a guestbook. Want to do a picture with a big mat around it for people to sign. I have one from my b-day party years ago - its actually hanging on my wall as opposed to being thrown in a drawn.

I have actually never been to a wedding with a guest book, so I think you're fine. I'm probably not going to do one either

I don't think i'm going to do a guest book. I feel like some people won't even see it and won't sign it. I'm not fully decided though.

Re: another post got me thinking
So I always wanted to do a guest book. I agree it is general messages but I thought about the fact that the cards people give I won't put on display but will end up in some box.
our photographer makes a guestbook with our engagement pictures and I thought it was a great idea to incorporate in the wedding events :)

I don't think it is tacky to not have one!! I have never been to a wedding where there is one. I don't see the point.. you obviously know who is at your wedding. They remind me of funerals.

Re: another post got me thinking
I don't think its tacky either. I have one but that's because i got it for like $10. I wasn't going to spend more than that on a guestbook. If you don't want one then don't have it...no biggie....people really come to party anyway once they hit the reception, no one really remembers to look for the guestbook
