Another question for you ladies - a REAL one - what the heck am I going to do on a 24 hour plane ride???

We are going to Thailand - My Ipod will probably die after a few hours... I'll bring a book or 2, some magazines... have NO patience whatsoever for any type of sewing (plus, I wouldn't be able to bring it on a plane these days anyway, I am sure...)

So what else should I do???

definitely catch up on sleep -

I also bough a portable DVD player for under $100 bucks - again the battery may only last about 6 hours, but you could watch two movies in that time!

Do they have games on board? I played Bejeweled for 2 1/2 hours on the plane back from Florida. The time FLEW by.

For a flight that long make sure you buy travel socks! They are special socks that apply pressure to your legs to help blood flow. Drink lots of water, and get up out of your seat every few hours and walk around the plane. I flew 17 hours to Australia last year, and doing those things really helped.

As for keeping yourself busy, after the wedding some sleep will be in order, but some magazines and travel size games will be helpful as well.

Yes. You also need to walk every few hours Trust me or you might end up like me with a blood clot.

They'll have movies for you to watch. My brother flew to Australia and he took some sort of medicine, so he would actually sleep for most of the flight. He was flying from rochestre to nyc to LAX to Hawaii to Australia, so he knew he wouldn't sleep well, and took a little medicine recommended by airlines for the flight from Hawaii to Australia b/c that was a 12 hour flight.
