OK, let's say I keep the shoes I just bought. They have a 3' heel. My dress is hollow to hem measured w/ a lot of detail on the bottom. If during the reception I want to slip into something more comfortable (flip flops, slippers, etc), I am going to wind up completely destroying my dress?
I know I have the same exact situation and I was thinking that the dress would be too long without the heels and I guess that means I can't change. I dont want to destroy the crystals at the bottom. I will have to see when I get it and try it on.
you could get 3' platform flipflops - that way your dress wouldn't be dragging and you wouldn't have to hold up your dress while you dance. I think this is what I am going to do.

Wear them in the beginning. After everyone starts drinking and dancing no ones going to really notice. Enjoy yourself and have a good time (without swollen feet!)
