FH is going to a job fair for teachers tomorrow. Should he bring copies of his cover letter or just his resume?
TIA

Re: Another teacher question
Yes. I suggest that he brings both even references-this expresses that he is up front and prepared. I dont think that you could be too prepared.

I usually bring sample lesson plans and pictures of me working with kids, too. It might be overkill, but I like to believe it shows my passion!

I would have him take both, to be on the safe side. I also think any type of portfolio information (lesson plans, projects, ect) might be helpful. I wish him the best of luck

I did this too! I had prepared a binder with lessons, samples of kids' work, and photos of me working with the kids, in addition to my resume and LAST/ATS-W scores. I brought it to all appointments when I went around to all the schools in my district before I was hired. Figured the visual would be better than just me talking up myself and qualifications.

Re: Another teacher question
YES!!!! Tell him to bring EVERYTHING!!! If he has a portfolio bring that, bring numerous copies of resumes, i brought like 20 or so. I got actual interviews AT job fairs last year, they do a little screening on you and if they like you they bring you to a seperate room and interview you...at least that is what happened at mine...

Re: Another teacher question
Why would you bring a cover letter to a job fair? It's supposed to be personalized based on the position you're applying for.
And DO NOT bring references. Those are supposed to be provided once they consider you for an interview. Most people who provide them up front get filtered out and put in the reject pile right away.
