I haven't been to many actual wedding ceremonies recently, I've usually just gone to the reception (is that bad? lol). I know in the past brides have had the piece of the veil over their face but I can't picture seeing anyone do this lately. Is that an old trend or is it still done? I feel so out of the loop with a lot of this wedding stuff . . . Thank God for this board

Re: Another Veil question . . .
Its really a personal choice. Ive seen both, I guess it depends on the wedding as well. Each girl's style is different. Ive recently been to a wedding where the girl was WAY more traditional, she had the veil over her face, she had a VERY big pouffy princessy dress, with a tiara, updo also very princessy and just all things tradition... THEN Ive been to a wedding where the bride had no veil, non traditional wedding, gorgeous mermaid style dress, hair down not really overly styled, and just had a different feel to her wedding.
Personally Im not doing the veil over my face but my wedding is non traditional. Just my style ya know... So I think you can do whateva you want to do =) Remember its your wedding and your day you do what makes you happy and is a reflection of who you are and what you love =)))))))

It is a personal choice but I still see it all the time.
I had a blusher and used it for my ceremony.

In Jewish tradition you have to wear a veil over your face (your groom has to veil you right before the ceremony) so I will be wearing one.

Re: Another Veil question . . .
i'm wearing my veil over my face for my mom. she really wants it. it's for about 30 seconds i'll have it on, so it's not a big deal to me lol.. she'll be happy, and hopefully leave me alone about other stuff!!

Re: Another Veil question . . .
I'm not wearing a 'blusher' that covers my face but i am wearing a regular veil. Then again I'm not getting married in a church so its not going to be as traditional. It depends what you want and how you always envisioned yourself walking down the aisle. Most wedding pictures i see these days, girls don't really wear blushers anymore.

Re: Another Veil question . . .
I have a mantilla veil which does not have a blusher that goes in front of my face. It's up to you whether you want to have the blusher or not; it's your preference.

It's your preference. I thought I did not want the blusher, but when I tried it on with my dress in the store, it just made it hit home that I was a bride! So I will walk down the aisle with it. my dad will flip it over my head at the end of the aisle, and then I will probably detach it after the ceremony!
