Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Hey Girls! I'm Lisa, 26, from Massapequa too! What a small world! Graduated from Massapequa High School. Work for my family's company.
FI's name is Adam, he's 28 from East Meadow and works as a Pharmacy tech.
Kristen, Sheraton is on Motor Parkway and I heard if you get enough people to book there, I believe they'll run a shuttle too. Have to find out for sure though!
Well, I'm off for the night too! I'm sure I'll chat with you ladies tomorrow! I'm so excited we have a thread now!

i would ask each as soon as possible - and do it individually - you want it to be special. i know the wedding is a ways away, but there is lots to do and you need as much help as possible.

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
I only got to really ask 1 of my BM's...the rest were just pretty much assumed! My sister is going to be my MOH and my 3 cousins (who have always been my best friends) just kind of knew that they would be my BM's!! I did get to ask 1 friend and I still may ask 1 of my FSIL's! I still may send each one of them one of these...cookies , just to be cute!!

Hi girls! I just wanted to jump on here and say that I was one of the first 2005 brides on here. I was engaged in December of 2002, and by the time we get married, it will be a two and a half year engagement. TIME WILL FLY! I can't believe that next month will be my one year mark! Get everything done that you can early, and don't listen to anyone when they tell you, 'But it's so far away!' We got great prices on everything, and are planning with a stress free attitude. So hang in there, it will come quicker than you think!

I have booked almost everything so far...but I am a PLAN-A-HOLIC so you guys can't go by me!!
Let's see, so far we've booked...the hall, florist, dj, photographer, and videographer.
I have bought tons of stuff (once I got started I couldn't stop!!)...things like the garters, cake knife & server, sae the dates, menus, programs, unity candle, sign in book, wedding rice, FH's wedding band, ring pillow, toasting glasses, tipping envelopes...nd I have already picked out my favors.

you think that's it? holy moley - you have everything - except the dress - but its a little early to start looking. but really, good for you, its better to have it all done and taken care of now - then a year from now when it will be harder to book the vendors you want. we need to get our arse's in gear!

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Well, I really booked everythig so early for a couple of reasone that worked bett erfor me right now (besides being a plan-a-holic!)
1. I am starting a new job in NYC in less than two weeks, and I have known abou tit for a while. I wanted to get as much done, and make as many appointments with vendors as possible before I start working crazy late hours w/ an added 1 hour commute from my house.
2. FH and I don't have a car so I tried to do my research and only meet with vendors in my area (I live in Brooklyn) that were easy to get to so I could walk to them while I still worked in then neighborhood and left work by 3pm!
3. I hate to do anything in the summer...I can't stand to be hot!! The less planning I have to do this smmer the better. With all this done I can take a break til fall!!...then the dress hunt will begin!!!

I really think that you did the right thing. and i wasn't questioning why you did it. i know why. we all have the same reasons, you know. and i totally feel you on #3 - i hate to be hot - and usually i am always cold - so when i am hot - i am cranky. i've been somewhat looking for a dress, just getting ideas. do you have anything in mind?

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
I have cut a few pics out of magazines and have looked at a few websites btu I know it is going to come down t what looks good on me. I am trying to keep an open mind and trying not to fall in love with any one style b/c it may look horrible on. But I do love the demetrios gowns especially...
...square neck, maybe sleeves but maybe not (don't want to be hot!!)...who knows!! You?
