...a second wedding band made of titanium - to wear at the gym, gardening, swimming, etc.?
I'm thinking of getting my FH a second wedding band to wear at the gym, etc...and realized it might be a good idea for me to have one as well.
Our rings will be platinum...so titanium, a very strong and inexpensive stress free metal would be optimal for the 2nd set of rings (don't like yellow gold, and no desire to have to have white gold re-dipped).
Anyone done this / doing this / have pix of nice ladies titanium rings?

It's tempting because it's cheap and looks nice, but titanium really scares me. If for some reason they can't get it off of your finger then there's no way to cut the metal. They would have to amputate your entire finger.

That's not true. It's more difficult to cut titanium than gold or silver, but it can be cut using special equipment (which most jewelry stores and hospitals have).

The way we'll be using the titanium bands, they won't be on our fingers for long periods of time...just when we're doing things that might damage the nicer rings more easily, but we want to have bands on our fingers.

In all honesty, I am fine not wearing my rings to garden and going to the gym, you may wear tired of changing rings or begin to forget alltogether......

Re: the titanium cutting. I had posted a ? about this a couple of months before and got mixed answers.. some girls said 'they can be cut with special tools that jewlers have' and some said they were un-cuttable.
I was at the jewler last week to get my setting fixed and asked him what the dilly was. he said he wont sell them anymore because he is worried about lawsuits. People ARE getting their fingers amputated and are suing the jewler. Where these tools might exist in some places, if an emergency arises they might not be able to get the tools in time.
He scared us enough to reconsider!
