Any catholic churches open to outsiders????

I am Christian and my home church is very small. I would absolutely love to get married in a catholic church. I love the beautiful stained glass & ceilings most of them have along with the decor and so much more. Are there any on LI (nassau mainly) or possibly Queens which are open to the public, who allow others to rent their sanctuaries???
If not, maybe you can recommend another kind of church or chapel possibly with the look I'm looking for.

Maria Regina in Seaford allows non parishioners to get married there. For personal reasons, I couldn't get married at my home parish and my godmother suggested we try here (her parish) and they were great about it.

FM me if you have questions! I do have pics in the church I can post if you want but I can't get to them from my phone!

Community Church of East Williston is non denominational and has beautiful stained glass windows. I am getting married there on Saturday because my fiancee is Christian and I am Catholic. They allow you to rent it and the wedding coordinator is great to work with. Good Luck!

I do know that most churches make you sign paperwork before they will accept you to be married stating that you plan on raising your children Catholic, etc. Also, you will have to do Pre-Cana.

Our Lady of Mercy in Forest Hills, Queens is open to members of other parishes. You do still have to be Catholic, of course, to get married there though. They were so nice and they didn't ask questions as to why we weren't getting married in our parishes.

I may have more at home, but this was what I had on photobucket right now from work.

No Catholic church will let you get married there unless you both become Baptized Catholics.

Although most Catholic Churches open their parish to those who don't go to that particular parish, you would have to be Catholic in order to be married in a Catholic Church, since marriage is part of the sacraments, you would have to go through the rest of the pre-requisite requirements such as baptism, communion,etc...I hope you find that place for you, good luck on your search.

I believe, not positive, that St. Roccos and St. Pats in Glen Cove may.....They are both very big/cool looking churches.

St. Matthews in Dix Hills allows outsiders, as well as visiting priests.

this is not true. My dh is not catholic but we were permitted to be married in a catholic church since I am catholic.

you can apply for permission from the bishop or disoceses i believe if one person is catholic and the other is christian.
one person has to be catholic...

And I understand wanting a beautiful church for the wedding, but choosing a catholic church should be because of the faith, not pictures.

Yes - it does depend on the congregation. MOST require baptismal, but there are a few liberal churches who don't...
