In these meeting do they ask you what bothers you about one another, or what you need to improve. I think this what my cousin is doing aside from Precana

it is a lot of different things...

there are chapters that have to do with different subjects..

really knowing each other
budgets
communication
spiritual compatibility
personal history .....etc

at the end of each there is project you have to do and although it's time consuming and not super convinient we have been really learning a lot!!!! and the projects make you have all different kinds of convos...and it was awesome to make like a married life budget and target goals etc...

last night after we were doing communication lol for and hour and 40 minutes i wondered if anyone else was doing a course like this...

I had the short version lol... with my Pastor and it was great!!! It really seals the deal why we were getting married. I am not joking my cousin fh has to walk with rocks in shoes as penance so he doesn't forget what he needs to work on

seriously rocks...????

I swear and she says he has been doing it and sticking to it. Can you imagine

wow!! well i hope they have discernment to know what works for them...i know i could not co sign the rocks...lol

i agree I would co-sign the xbox disapprearing for awhile!!

FH's pastor told us we would only need to take 6 premarital classes and we could spread them out; like 1 class a month.

FH and I are doing something similar to this w/ our pastor. Its 8 weeks but one chapter talks about having children before marriage and we don't have children so we don't have to do that one. We've been doubling up the lessons b/c we started late. Its not a huge text book but its a booklet w/ about 8 chapters and 3 CD w/ previous services on them. Each week we're doing 2 chapters. They're on things like:
- communication
- being equally yolked
- spirituality
- your parents and their marriage (how it plays into who you are as a person)
- money and budgeting

a lot of the questions have references to scriptures in the bible to help you answer them. Some aren't just common knowledge answers they are according to the bible.

Is this what you are doing?

Re: Any Christian Brides???

I think we got the cliff notes version of premartial counseling. 3 or 4 hour sessions with our pastor. FH and I live in different states, and we really wanted to do premartial counseling together, not over the phone. So, my pastor agreed to do it with us over his Spring Break. We loved it! Our pastor kinda based it on a 'tool belt' and having different 'tools' for our marriage. We had to describe what our tool belts looked like, so I think I'm going to go find a leather studded one for FH...
