On old country road? I used to go to Islander fan club meetings there with my friend (she was obsessed). It was ok. Nothing to write home about.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

My cousin had her wedding there in June. Unfortunately everyone other than my immediate family was 2 hours late ! We spent a bunch of time looking around the place for my second reception (that's a whole different story). The place is nice, but take a close look. It could use a facelift. Basically, it's a step up from a restaurant, but there are a lot prettier places on LI. Of course, I have no idea what their prices are in comparison to the prettier places! The food was eh - I'm not sure if they used an outside caterer though.... Good luck!

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

Used to be popular quite a few years ago for weddings. I heard it usually used for corporate parties and church functions now. My aunt's wedding was held there over 10 years ago -- I don't remember much.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

I agree with Natasha, I think they are used mainly for corporate parties, sports dinners, etc. My brothers have had sports awards dinners there when we were in High School. I know my parents have been there for wedding a few years ago... I'm pretty sure my mother did not really like the food, but of course she is ONLY one person :o) Good luck!

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

I don't think anyone was saying it was bad. We are saying that they have different clientele.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

My aunts went to a birthday party thee a couple of months ago. They had a good time and commented that the food was good.

I hear the prices there are pretty reasonable.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

First of all, I've been to Antun's for several weddings - the food was EXCELLENT and so was the service. Yes I agree with many of the posters that churches, corporations etc, have their parties there, but corporations, churches, organizations have parties at most of the places I've seen on this board as well. No reception hall discriminate when it comes to money...they don't care who wants to have a function there as long as they are paying!

I would recommend Antun's to the bride who does not want to put herself in debt! Most of the places on here are not realistically affordable (anywhere from $85 p/p to $200) to the working class, renting a small apartment and struggling to pay bills as well as planning a wedding bride. In my opinion, if you are on a tight budget and struggling financially, somewhere like Antun's is more reasonable and affordable and more importantly sensible. The wedding is one day, but your marriage is a lifetime. Youre wedding can be just as beautiful here as anywhere elset! If Antun's is suitable for your pocket, then go for it, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed! Take it from someone who has travelled the world, and ate in many restaurants from the best to the worst.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

i grew up in westbury and several of our high school functions were held there. i'm sure the prices are very reasonable, however its not my style. i think there are many many places on long island in the same price range.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

Sandy:

Since this is your FIRST post on this site, and you were married in 2000 with no reception location listed, I am reediting my original comment to say the following:

I believe that Antun's is no longer a top choice for brides. Of course, if a bride is interested she can choose them for her reception. Afterall, Antun's is business.

Re: Any comments out there about Antun's?

Yes, I was married Sept 2000 and I'm on here because I'm helping my sister plan her wedding which will be in Long Island and I came here for ideas and vendors. I very rarely post, what i'm interested in is mostly vendor reviews. since I'm already married I don't feel the need to post a lot. Besides, i have other websites that I subscribe to. I did not have my reception at Antun's I had it at Tavern on the Green in Manhattan...is there anything else you'd like to know about me? Also is it manadatory for me to put that in my profile? I'm not here for me, I'm here for my sister...is that okay??

As for Antun's, it may no longer be a choice for brides on this particular site, but there are many other sites out there where brides use them! Keep that in mind!
