We are getting married 5/23/14 at East Wind. Are there any other East Wind brides here?

P.S. I booked the rooms at East Wind $199 which is a lot but, the convenience of staying there is worth it. I may block another local hotel but I do not want to pay for the shuttle

East Wind was on Four Weddings tonight!! The Estate was their room and they won!! They got SOOOO many points for food! Which is great :)

Oh that is awesome! I missed the show but I will have to look for a repeat. The food there is great! I can't wait!!

I'm booked at The Cottage for May 31, 2014. We are getting married at our church in Queens. Looking at your quotes for room blocks makes me really question what I've been quoted...$279 a room. I feel it's really expensive to ask my guests to stay there....

Oh boy! That is pretty pricey! My HGI quote was originally $139 but I asked her to match the Hyatt which was $119 and she did. I would have just booked the Hyatt but my dad is obsessed with his hilton honors points so I had to do something to make that work for him LOL. The room block at East Wind would have been $179 but I think my family would be more inclined to stay somewhere that's less expensive, and my future in laws are willing to pay for the shuttle. I'm hoping that people will stay so that they will drink more haha

My friend got married at EW in 2011. I was in her party, and didn't want to do any driving, so I stayed at EW. I WISH I payed $199 for the room. Her wedding was in August. The cost of the room was almost (not quite but pretty darn close) double that!

Was anyone able to negotiate or lower the pricing giving for the room block? I was quoted 279 a night for 5/31/2013.

I know its a saturday night, but i feel people wont stay at that price. I also feel once people have to drive to another place they feel they might as well just go home

I would love to know if there was any flexibility in room rate. I toured all the available room types last time I was there....and $279 seems ridiculous to ask my my family to pay for a just standard kinds dated room. I'm a little disappointed by the rooms actually. I was expecting nicer :0(

I think the estate and the cottage have the same carpets (those ugly green ones with the pink roses?) and I'm doing ivory linens and chair covers, and my colors are eggplant (girls are wearing eggplant dresses) and silver. I'm not too worried about matching the carpet bc I don't really think anyone will notice.

I've heard that getting a school bus as a shuttle is around $400. HTH!

Fyi, i tried negotiating the rates. No luck!

What bothers me is the website has the next few fridays available for 159 a night, i cant see how saturday is 279. There response was as the dates get closer they reduce rates, but if you dont have the rooms booked ahead at full price they may not be available once the date is close enough when they would drop the price.

Thanks for the info on the shuttle..and I'm still trying to decide on colors. Every time I bring it up to FH he's not too interested...grrr.
