I think its normal, its called break through bleeding. I went through the same exact thing. I had to try 3 different pills to get the right one. They all had side effects for me. But everyone is different. Orthotryclin low worked the best for me. I havea friend right now, who is on YAZ and she skips her period every so often and it scares the crap outta her lol so shes going off that one, and trying a diff pill. The first month is a little crazy, its the change in your hormones, you may get very moody as well lol

Birth control pills made me crazy...literally so I had to go off of them. Ive been Birth control free for 4 years lol

And be careful because antibiotics will lessen the effect of the pill, and you can get prego!!!

I had a horrible experience on YAZ -- the other 24 day active pill. I had been on ortho-tricyclen lo forever, and it was great, and my gyno decided that I might like trying YAZ -- it was horrible -- no period for 4 months -- this sounds good, but it isn't -- I had all the symptoms, but no actual period, and I was constantly paranoid that I could be pregnant. I went off and it took 3 months to get my period. I'd be wary of these shortened period pills, I've had friends who had similar experiences. Definitely talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!!!

You should...just know the 2nd month will be easier. Your body is adjusting right now...hang in there!

I had the same thing happen to me. It will stop soon but try to never miss pills b/c if you can end up spotting or bleeding for almost 7 days twice in a month like I did. I really thought I was going to die of blood loss. But its fine now and it works well.

I’ve been Loestrin for about 1 week now. I am a moody emotional wreck!!! I don’t know its because of the BC or the fact that my wedding is about a month away, but either way I’m going crazy!!!! I definitely think it has a lot to do with the hormones from the BP though.

I take Loestrin..this is my 4th attempt at birth control pills. Take my advice and stick with it! The first month stinks, i was nauseous, bleeding, in pain and miserable. But now its about 7 months later and it's the greatest thing ever invented. I get my period for about 1 -1.5 days...its terrific

My sister just started taking this just about a month ago and the same exact thing happened to her. She asked me if I thought she would still get her normal period on the brown pills too. I don't think she started them yet though so I can't answer your question but from what all the other girls have said it seems like it is pretty natural when you first start taking them to have these spotting episodes and then a normal period too. I agree and stick with it for the first couple of months to give it time to do its job. Your body is trying to get used to it.
