Any Hamlet Wind Watch brides out there?

Hi Ladies,

I recently booked the Hamlet Wind Watch for my wedding reception. I was hoping there are some other brides who had or are having their reception there. I'm open to any feedback from anyone about the Wind Watch.

Thanks!

Yay I am so happy to see someone else at the Wind Watch. My FH and I are getting married on 5/15/10.

Great! I'm glad I'm not the only one! Have you been to another wedding or event there? The Wind Watch was a place that I found on my own and didn't go there based on someone elses recommendation. My FH and I looked at 6 other places, but none were exactly what we were looking for, so we went to the WW and loved it! I haven't seen many reviews, so I was curious if you knew a lot about them.
Thanks!

I looked under past posts on Wind Watch (see below). Every post I read gave rave reviews. The food was great! The service was fantastic and overall the venue was perfect.

No I have a question for you, Did you and your FH book the restaurant for CH? We did we are getting married in May and the weather is unpredictable. I also didnt want any golfers hanging around.

Also, are you planning on keeping the CH room open during your reception? I think we are but im afraid that it will be useless space? Too many things to think of!

I am so happy, that we have each other to bounce ideas off of over the next year.

We did book the restaurant also, for the same reason you did. If, and hopefully this won't be the case, it does rain, we have additional space for guests. I think the CH room by itself would be too small. We felt the same way about keeping the golfers out.
I'm not sure if we are going to keep the CH room open during the reception. Eileen said they would put out cocktail tables in that space one the reception began. I guess depending on our numbers, if we have a lot of guests, the room might look small and cramped without the wall open, so we'll see!
I have a friend attending a WR at the Wind Watch in August, so I'll be sure to pick her brain for details and I'll pass them along!

Thanks,
Jeanette

I just thought of another question...
Are you getting chair covers or sashes? I think the chairs are a little casual for my taste, so I going to look into getting something for the chairs.

No we opted not to get the chair covers. They match my color palette, so I lucked out.

I think we are going to keep the CH room open during our reception. I love the idea of some small CH tables for people to sit at and have a conversation. I will NOT be adding flowers to those tables so what i decided to do is just some candle sticks. I thought of carrying the candles through that room and make it romantic but NOT cost me a ton of Money.

We will be using the patio for the smokers(weather permitting) . As a current smoker (eventually planning on quitting b4 the big day) I didn't want them to be ostracized and I really don't want them to leave the room every time they want to smoke.

FH and I are tossing around the idea of renting a photo booth for that room. We figured it could be set up and remain open the hole time. It will also take up some room so that it doesn't feel like a vast open space.

I'm going to see roughly how much the chair covers or sashes will cost and decide from there. I don't mind the chairs, I just may want to dress them up a bit.
I like the photo booth idea!
If I have any questions, I'll send you a FM (forum mail)...I actually just figured out what the heck that meant a couple days ago! Not exactly sure how it works, but I'll figure it out because I think we might be the only 2 Wind Watch brides!

Hi! I'm getting married at the WW a week after you!! How fun! It's so nice to see at least two brides on this site with the same hall!!

I was wondering if you can offer any feedback on your wedding planning process with Hamlet Wind Watch. My FH and I are very interested but are worried about the size of the rooms. The service seems fantastic but we are planning on having close to 170 people and when we went to view the space it was set up for 180... You could barely walk between the tables!

Plus, in any photos I've seen of people on the dance floor everyone looks so cramped!

Help!

Hmm. It may be a bit cramped. Especially with the dance floor. We are only having 110- a perfect size for us.

Are you inviting a lot of guests that will enjoy dancing, or do you think you will have more of a low key crowd? This can make a differrence.

Re: Any Hamlet Wind Watch brides out there?

170 might be tight. We were thinking we'd have 160 and we're trying to make some cuts on the guest list so we may have even less than 160. One of my friends just went there for a wedding this weekend where they had 120 people and about 14 or 15 tables. She said that was just right. She said more tables than that would be cramped. If you fit 10-12 people at a table than you may be able to squeeze 170. Hope that helps! Good luck! Keep me posted on what you decide. Did you book there or are you just considering the wind watch?
