Any info on these reception sites?

One of my hubby's friends who just got engaged is considering some of these places, and she asked me if I had info......the groom to be is in NY, the bride to be is in California (she's a doctor in the army).....so it will be a little while before she can see these places herself. I've been to two of them on her list, but figured I'd turn to my girls on LIW for more feedback!!

pls let me know if you have any good or bad feedback or notable info. If you'd rather FM, please do!

TIA!!!!

Here's her list:

-Nicotra's Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn, SI
-Vanderbilt at South Beach, SI
-Li Greci's Staaten, SI
-Terrace on the Park, Flushing Meadows
-Russo's on the Bay, Howard Beach
-The Renaissance, Bklyn (14th and 59th)
-Sirico's, Bklyn

ETA- if you have any places you'd recommend in Brooklyn or Staten Island, feel free to let me know, I can pass it on to her to research. Thanks!

We Almost booked w/Nicotra's Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn, SI. but when FH and I saw JT we just fell in love, but Nicotra's is beautiful. We also met w/Terrace on the Park. The view is beautiful but the building is what threw us off. You should take a look at El Caribe B'klyn I believe it's in Mill Basin and then there's Rivera in B'klyn by Coney Island. Good Luck

We looked at Russo's on the Bay, Howard Beach. It is really elegant not over the top. Like a classy hotel.

This place runs like a well oiled machine, except they forgot to give me my tea when I asked for it in the waiting room waiting for the person to give us a tour.

I really didn't like that there could be 4 weddings a time there. This really turned me off.

I'm sorry if this sounds bad but just to correct you they only have three rooms only two of the rooms are used for weddings...they don't have weddings in the smallest of their rooms, just the Tivoli and Ren rooms. They have two time frames so they can have up to three things going on but only two possible weddings at a time and they never interfere with one another. When one event is breaking out the other wouldn't start for another 30 minutes at least so they don't overlap.

Also as a just married Russo's bride they do run like a well oiled machine and they are excellent in everything they did for DH and I.

I know I posted this on the 08 thread on this subject but feel free to FM me if you like.

Re: Any info on these reception sites?

Im booked at Terrace on the Park. The view is awesome...especially from the penthouse which has a huge wrap around outdoor terrace attached to the room (terrace also has a gazebo).

The penthouse room offers a view of the the NYC skyline, the unisphere (globe) which is lit blue at night (the color comes in to the room and ithe room glows...this sold me!)shea stadium (we are mets fans lol)

Also if you have it in the pentouse you have the whole floor to yourself so while there may be another wedding going on youd never notice!

FM me for any other info!
