i THINK if someone NEEDS help and needs advice, they should be given it. Lawyers just want $ for advice. I worked for a lawyer once - NEVER again . . .

I think all she was saying is that she would help for free instead of charging. Im sure she was attempting to be NICE but shes getting slandered here. This board turned hostile for no reason.

Where on these message boards or profiles indicate the name of the law firm you all represent? If there's nothing on these boards that can be traced back to your real life personalities, then just help the poor girl out with friendly suggestions - you are not obligated to give her a legal opinion.

Her message might be misleading about asking for lawyers but it's just a cell phone bill issue and it doesn't take a lawyer to figure that out.

oh and I don't mean to anger any one here, i just felt bad that 'MrsBrags7706' is getting ripped apart and felt i had to say something.

Thanks to those that FM'd me and just to let the rest of you know, it wasnt a Big Huge legal problem....just a question....I dont need a lawyer, we're not being sued, nothing like that.

My question was just how can a cell phone company charge an early termination fee when they have nothing on their end that show that the contract was terminated early. They have nothing to show me and expect me to pay them?

Whenever you make a derogatory statement about a group of people, you will get criticized by the people in the group. This goes with profession, ethnicity, religion, etc.

I think the original poster should have just posted her problem, not ask for free legal advice.

hey Katy!! actually the attorneys who did respond, did so before woobie updated with what she was looking for.....originally it was generic saying that she needed advice. She didn't mean for it to get out of hand, but I think the attorney's were just trying to explain why they can't freely give advice (since they were probably thinking it was a more serious problem than a cell phone issue).

I think this post should rest, woobie got the help she needed, and the attorney's passed on their articulate explanation.

Kara- if I ever need an attorney and if I can actually afford your company, I'm coming to you!!

Understandable, but when you make comments like that then you need to prepare yourself for what others have to say back. There are different ways to handle things and say things. If you want to help out and offer advice then all you have to do is offer that, not insult other girls.

P.S. when the other girls said they can't help, it was before they knew what the problem was.

Yes at first woobie just asked if there are any lawyers here that can help her, that is all. Then after all of this she updated yesterday and you will see her response about the phone company is after the updated part. The lawyers who said they can't help was when they had no idea what the problem was.

And woobie-you shouldn't feel bad at all about how this post turned out, it was to no fault of your own.
