I got in my head today that I want an old church , like the 'Little House ' church.
Can you think of any on LI that do weddings?
All I can think of is Grace church on Merrick road, but I don't think they still use that. Any ideas?

Re: Any 'little house ' churchs on LI ?
I got married at Sacred Heart in Island Park... it was a cute, simple church... plus DH was an alter boy there when he was little... so it was really nice.

We checked out a bunch of churches like this for our wedding. We ended up using St. Luke's in Sea Cliff. They were very accepting of us even though we didn't belong to their parish and didn't even require any money to have the ceremony there. We just had to pay for the organist and then made a generous optional donation. The other places we checked out were (sorry I can't remember most of their specific names) - St Johns in Cold Spring Harbor - Absolutely beautiful church right on the water - the prettiest we saw - but they were not very welcoming to us since we didn't belong to the parish and they wanted donations before we could even schedule a wedding there. St. ? Episcopal Church in Oyster Bay - Beautiful church but again not really welcoming to people who didn't belong to the parish. Plus, we went in to visit one day on our own and some mean lady kicked us out. St Johns in Huntington Village - Really nice and welcoming but right on Main Street and there was limited parking St ? Episcopal Church in Northport Village - Really nice and welcoming but, again, right on Main Street and limited parking St. ? Episcopal Church in Stony Brook Village - Beautiful, tiny church on a hill but only fit about 50 people - too small for us Caroline Church in Setauket - Gorgeous church right by the mill pond but expensive and too far from our reception hall St. ? Episcopal Church in Port Jefferson Village - Very pretty church but limited parking and too far from our reception hall

There is an episcopol church in Old Stony Brook on a hill. I was going to look into that church but instead got married at St. James Lutheran Church in St. James which also has a quaint feel to it. Here's a quick look at the inside. It's on Woodlawn Ave. The white church with red doors.
Here's a pic of the All Souls Church in Stony Brook and the web site: [/A]
There are also several churches in Setauket that are old and just so beautiful.
Here's one of my favorites: [A=http://www.carolinechurch.org/splash.htm]
