they found the person they want to spend the rest of their life with..and that threw off the whole equilibrium of the rest of their lives??? i had 3 friends from college and now we are barely friends at all.....i know they talk behind my back, and exclude me from stuff.....it just *****....i'm starting to just think f-it who needs them....but that ***** more than anything........

One of my friends from college did that to me early on in my relationship with my FI...she was jealous and just stopped talking to me and we haven't spoken in 2 years and probably will never speak again....She doesn't even know that I am engaged and you know what...I don't care

They accept you for who you are, what you do, what you look like and who you marry. They love you unconditional and won't talk behind your back. You're better off without people like that in your life anyway. Besides, finding the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with is the greatest feeling in the world!!!!

I could not agree more!!! Your true friends realize that no matter how busy you might be with your 'new' life, that you are still thinking about them & are still there for them in case they need you...Life is about hectic things & your friend's need to accept that!

I had a 'Will & Grace' friendship that was starting to turn. The last straw was when he majorly pissed me and my FH off, too many details to explain. My FH had never met him and threatened him over the phone if he ever did. It almost broke us up! But I couldn't wallow in the past, I had to move towards my future and choose my FH over my former friend. Sometimes I miss his friendship but I know it was the right thing to do.

So true......I'm sorry to say that I basically have one TRUE friend. Everyone else is an acquaintance. So sad.......

it's sad but you notice it happens more with friends that don't have bfs/gfs, you get distant with them...but you just have to realize that your true friends will always stay by your side

I think some people have a major problem with expressing their true feelings and it's unfortunate that it comes out through jealousy.
I hope that your friends will change and that they realize that jealously is no reason to leave a friendship behind.

Thats when you realize who is worthy/important - I had alot of guy friends, even when i was dating FH but as soon as I got engaged my guy friends pretty much stopped talking to me - apparently they were expecting a more than friends relationship. I had girls i thought were friends in college do the same as yours - some girls get so jealous that its upsetting and you realize if they truely were friends theyd be happy for you.
Its sad that such things happen b/c of whats supposed to be such a wonderful and joyous event!!
We're here for you though I'm sorry you had to go through all this!!

the thing is girls....my friends arent jealous...nor are they mean....it just upsets me that things are so different. i knwo they want to blame me....and we all come from different perspectives..
i am not trying to speak badly of them....just the current state of our friendship.

Sorry you are going through this. It's sad. Did you try talking about your feelings with them? Do you think it has anything to do with you moving to PA?

I can relate to how you fell. But my FI and I have made it a point to still have time with our friends usually once a week we go out with our friends separately then another night we go out with all of our friends that are engaged or married. So far it has worked out really well.

I think that things like getting married and stuff birng out other peoples true colors and if thats what there doing then there not really your friends ....Your starting your new life with you husband and as long as you have you best friend ...which is him then i wont really loose sleep over it!
