Any past brides who did not do favors?

Original post by july06bride

Are there any past brides who did not do favors? Was their a negative reaction from guests? I dont know if this idea will go over too well with the in laws, but I am really NOT finding any affordable but Nice and useful favors that I like. I do like wine bottles- but they seem like they are going to cost a lot, and I do like chocolate, but still it can add up with a large wedding which we are having. My idea is to cut costs and not do favors...but I dont know if this is a good or bad idea

I know that I have been to a few weddings where I forgot to take the favor after a few cocktails, so I think that the younger group usually isn't very upset. The older guests would like something but a donation is very thoughtful and cheaper.

Check out this website! They print up donation cards for you and organize sending the donation out for you and there is no minimum donation per guest.

I don't think people 'expect' them. I've gone to so many weddings that 1/2 the people don't even use what you buy anyway. Even if you spend $.99 on a favor, I'd rather it go to an organization that could really use the money.
