Any registered nurses?

Hello girls...I am new to this site and noticed that you guys give each other all kinds of advice, so I thought I would ask a personal question.

I was considering going into nursing and wanted to hear from nurses out there. How do you like? I know the pay is great, but how is it emotionally? Do you feel you it will be good when you want to have children (Once I have children I plan on working less)? Does it give you a lot of freedom, as far as schedule?

I've been told that if you go into nursing you should be an NP...but at this point if I do that I feel I'll be in school my whole life!

i am not a nurse but my mom is

she runs a medical group and is always looking for skilled nurses -there are lots of jobs out there

as for working with a family, at a medical group - private practice - my mom split the job with another nurse or just worked one day for a doctor - pay though at medical offices is not as good as hospitals though

I'm a registered nurse and I can tell you that as with every job it has its good points and bad points.

I am not a registered nurse yet, but working as an LPN untill i am done with school and take my RN boards. I think nursing can be stressful and frustrating at time jsut like any other job, but it is soo rewarding!!!! i love what i do.

oh.. and if you have children, i think its an incredible job because you have 3 shifts you can choose from, many jobs do not offer that.

I am a Registered Nurse, and Certified Hemo Dialysis Tech, and I must say I work as an Administrative Assistant b/c emotionally I couldn't take it. The pay is excellent, as well as benefits, but after 3yrs I couldn't do it anymore I would get too attached to my patients
