Any reviews of Chateau LaMer?
I would love some input on Chateau LaMer in Lindenhurst. We've booked there already because we got that 'this is the place' feeling, but am curious what other people have to say about it...

Re: Any reviews of Chateau LaMer?
I've never been there but I would recommend doing a search. I hate to a bearer of bad news but I think they were featured on Fox 5 Problem Solvers due to some issue with a couple - I think there was a black-out and they refused to give them any sort of compensation for it but I'm not sure if that is 100% for sure. Other than that, I haven't heard anything else about them.Good luck!

Re: Any reviews of Chateau LaMer?
I am getting married there in July 2005. PLEASE don'tlisten to any negativity about the place. They had a bad rap for awhile because they had horrible owners, but George is the new owner, and he is INCREDIBLE. He is unbelievable, and has benn nothing but AMAZING throughout my whole decision about booking there. He has redone so much, and is planning to change every aspect of the place. They did have some electrical problems becaus ethye arre on the water, but they have a genearot powerful eneough to supply power for two days to a week, so don't worry, and don't listen to what they were like in the past. I have 100 million percent of confidence they will goive me the most perfect wedding I could ever imagie, and I want you to to rfeel the same way. I knew as soon as I walked in, that I had to get married there. I grew up in Lindenhurs, and swore I wouldn't even look ther because of my past experiences there and what I have heard all these years. My mom heard they got a new owner, and just told me to check it out. As soon as I walked in and met George and Nick, and saw how much had changed, I was hooked. I did not book until I had a tasting though. Meanwhile, it was AMAZING food. I was shocked, and brought my deposit and signed the contract the next day. Congratulations on the PEFECT choice of the NEW Chateau La Mer!!!!!

Re: Any reviews of Chateau LaMer?
Thanks bluesky! I hadn't heard anything negative about them. My family and I used to go there a long time ago for dinner...Love what they've done with the place. I've never met George, but Nick has been great...I am so comfortable with him. The only thing that worried me was my cousin lives down there and she told me about the odor of seaweed --cuz they're on the water. I went to the food tasting and it smelled. Nick assured me that it happens once a year in August...we're labor day weekend...I'm hoping its gone by then! Keep me posted!oops...i realized after i posted this that i was logged in under my best friends name...this is snapshot speaking...
