it's finals week, then Regents week, then 'we pay you full salary to come in every day even though the students aren't in attendance and you just do crossword puzzles all day' week.
My FSIL (teacher) was married in the beginning of August and took a two-week HM. It worked out really well b/c August is sometimes less exp at some RHs AND if you go to a place like Hawaii -no hurricanes there......

Jen, I like the way you think! We were thinking Hawaii in late July / early Aug. I think it's supposed to be cheaper then, because it's busier in winter when everyone's trying to escape the cold weather.

Re: Any teachers?
Nope, we made up with the innkeeper to spend a weekend there in January. They'll put us up in a room and we'll go over contract details and sign then. So we're 100% set that this is where we want the wedding, we just haven't signed anything or put down the deposit.

Re: Any teachers?
OK for the creator aof this question and SNOWFLAKE
I am a teacher and am getting married next March.
I am hoping that when I get married I will be off the following week (March 15 is Easter)\
Do they sometimes make Eater a long weekend and then do an April Spring break?
I didnt think of this because Eater is early next year.
Do I have anything to worry about? Our next year school calendar hasnt come out...when does BOCES put it out?
Thanks

Re: Any teachers?
in New York city, we are always off beginning with good friday - HTH
ETA - Unless passover starts before easter then vacation starts the first night of passover
very rarely that early (march) Never off for easter and then a separate april vacation (not that i remember anyway)

Re: Any teachers?
Yes I agree with you. I have been in my district for three years but i belive that with leap year it is throwing me off.
I hope I have Easter/Spring recess in March because I can take a 12 day honeymoon! (Praying for no snow in 2007 but a little bit for the wedding day)

Re: Any teachers?
I'm going to school to be a teacher and hopefully I'll have a job by 2008, so I'm getting married in July.

Yea, i think things got messed up two years ago or something because the vacation was the week before Easter and we only got a week off. People at my job were SO MAD that they had to come back the day after Easter!
I'm in Region 6. We are doing a mid to late July or early August wedding so that I can have some time off to relax and do last minute things before the wedding and have enough time after the wedding to go on a long honeymoon and rest a few days before going back to work. One of my BM's is a teacher and another is a speech therapist in a school, so they will have the time off before the wedding to relax and just hang out too.
