I was wondering if anyone else is daring this.....I will graduate this December, and HOPEFULLY I will get a job by the wedding, just wondering if I will be crazy during my first year of teaching and getting married in Nov.....

Im getting married the day after thanksgiving and were taking our honeymoon right after. I have 9 sick days and 5 of them will be spent on my honeymoon.
I just wasnt about to compromise my wedding for my job so my class will have a sub for a week I just hope the room wont be completely torn to shreds by the time I come back

We're getting married in November and we are probably taking our honeymoon in February. I haven't given my principal the date yet, b/c I don't want him to get mad. I am going to at least take off the thursday before so I hope I will be able to.

I did this and it was tough but everything was great!!!! We are going on our honeymoon next week!!!! I got married in April and i went back to work the monday after !!!
I'm not--I am getting married on October 20th 2006, not even near a vacation. My FH is a Marine and he is used to us having to adjust our schedules to our work so we will be honeymooning that summer or maybe over winter break, we have not thought about that yet.

I am a teacher and am getting married the same day as you just a year earlier!! This year in my school four of us were engaged and 3 are/got married during the school year!

We're getting married in May and waiting until the summer to take our honeymoon ( if i find a teaching job for the fall. So far I haven't had any luck )

We didn't.
I took of the first week of school. My principal took it well. Life cannot revolve around work. I wasn't going to plan our wedding around my work schedule.

i'm going into my tenure year. so i rarely take off unless i'm really sick
my district doesn't allow us to use sick days or take off AT ALL for your wedding! crazy i know...but that's my 'wonderful' district!
i was going to get married in april, but we don't have a full april break next year. some of the days are possible snow days. so if i took one of those, i wouldn't get paid at all and couldn't use sick or personal days.
so although i AM getting married over the summer, i just wanted to tell you to make SURE you won't get penalized if you take any days off. i would have if i got married during the year.

Honestly, I feel bad because all I do is plan for the wedding and feel that Im not going to put as much into teaching as I have in the past. I was always on the computer and reading teaching materials and now its all about the wedding. I want to teach summer school next year for the extra cash but since my wedding is in July, I don't think I will be able to since my fiance wants a honeymoon right after the wedding.

Fh is teacher..we are getting married in October and going on our HM during X-mas break..At first I was really bummed becuse I come from a large italian family and X-mas is huge for both of our families..BUT after our parents spoke with us and convinced us to go on our HM during x-mas break, we decided to book it. We will leave Xmas day and come back the day after New Years....

I am so jealous of you all I went to our headmaster and she basically said NO!!!! SO now I am getting married in June 06...but I always dreamed of a autumn wedding. Fh wanted to go on honeymoon right after wedding and not wait...and I agree. Oh well, good luck to all you lucky ducks who are getting married when you really want
