I would try to negotiate....I spoke with another LIW bride who went to a wedding at Westbury Manor last weekend and she said that there wasn't the 7 entree selection and less food at the cocktail hour then the package that I was offerred. So...maybe if you get one less cocktail station and maybe only 3 entree selections (chicken, beef, fish) they will come down on the price.

I'm not sure how you would feel about doing that - but we are considering it. Especially if you love the decor and feeling of WM that much.

I'm booked at Westbury Manor for a Saturday evening in March 2010. I think I got a good price for what I was offered ($88 pp 100min). I also got the time slot that I really wanted too (8pm to 1am). I love the grounds, they are so pretty. I knew I wanted to have my reception there from the minute I walked in.

I decided I wanted my summer wedding in a garden and I didn't want to break my pocket so I had my wedding on a Wed. evening and it was amazing so many people came out and enjoyed themselves. It was absolutely amazing so that can be an option if you really want to save money and be different.

I don't know if you are only open to that Friday night but you could get a better price for an afternoon wedding if you are open to it.

I loved WM as well! but the room that i liked (manor room) required a minimum # of people of more than we were willing to guarantee.

We're having a Saturday afternoon wedding on May 30th and they gave us a GREAT price with the full menu and some extras. It bothers me sometimes though to see the differences in prices they quote. They told us if we opted for the Saturday evening on the same day that it was only $10 extra per person which was a fabulous price, however, I was dead set on NOT wanting an evening wedding (I am so out of the norm here!).

WM is so beautiful during the day, its almost a shame for your guests not to be able to take advantage of the beautiful gardens in daylight.

Definitely! I can't wait to take pics in the garden! I'm so selfish...hehe...my main reason behind wanting a day wedding is that my old butt can't stay up past a certain time Even on my own wedding day I'm sure I'll be passed out by 10pm!!

Re: any Wesbury Manor brides???

we went there to check in Nov 2006. we only wanted to guarantee 60 so we'd be upstairs. and we were told you don't have access to the gardens if you're upstairs. so if that's where you'd be check about using the gardens.

also we went back to take another look. we were deciding betw WM and Larkfield Manor. I asked if they could do any better on the price and Mel said he already took about $5 off so no. they did not offer to scale down the menu and when we told him we were going to Larkfield manor to check that ,they let us walk out. Maybe because we had so few guests they wouldn't make enough money if they went lower but that was our experience. hope you have better luck.
and if not, there's always larkfield . . people were so much nicer to us there. Glad it turned out for us as it did.
