Wow, this was a really helpful post! I'm glad I'm not the only one worried about this. Going to the dermatologist's before the wedding is great advice, they can prescribe what's best for you personally.
My cousin had a similar problem and she evene got a cold sore the day of her shower!! After that she went on Valtrex so she wouldn't get a cold sore for the BIG day and it worked. Now whenever something stressful is coming up she takes Valtrex and she is cold sore free!
I tried a cold sore medicine in a pill form once and my stomach got really sick. Lysine works great and I had no problems with it but sometimes I become irresponsible about taking it! I am going to try a Lysine lip balm, as someone here suggested.

Everytime I get extremely stressed or anxious I get a cold sore. Usually Abreva stops it right away, but in the past 2 months Ive gotten 2 and Abreva seems to have stopped working. HOW CAN I NOT GET A COLD SORE FOR MY WEDDING?????????
I know I am going to get one. I will have a huge sweltering sore right on my lip during my wedding. CR@P!!!!!!
I get them too, and the Valtrex works wonders, but you have to take it very soon after you start to feel the 'tingle'. If you have already broken out into a blister, than it's sort of too late. The supplement L-Lysine also works amazingly well, I take them together when I get a cold sore, and if I catch it early, you cant even see it. I would get a prescription for the Valtrex and take it for a week before the wedding just to be sure, and take the L-Lysine every day.
