Anybody else not doing the traditional recption things like

removing of garter
throwing the boquet
cake cutting
etc.

Just wondering, If Im the only one or am I warped

After too many humiliating experiences as being the only single girl at a wedding, and literally being DRAGGED AND FORCED onto the dancefloor to stand with 8 year old girls (who caught the bouquet)....I refuse to put anyone through this!

Mistyeyed - I can't tell you how many times I've been through that myself! That is definitely not fun!

I did not do the garter or throw the bouquet. I gave the bouquet to one of my closes friends...she was in my bp and the only one not engaged/married.

We cut the cake with our wedding song playing in the background.

I did not do the garter or boK - we are in our thirties and the only singles at the wedding were teenagers. We were going to do an anniversary dance, but my aunt and uncle who were married 51 years couldn't make it, so I lost my ambition for that. Instead, I placed my throw away boK on my late grandfathers grave the next day. For the cake, we did it, but didn't make a big deal out of it. Just took some quick photos and fed each other while the DJ was playing without any annoucements. Also, we didn't even sit at our own table - we made a decision to sit at a table we wanted to sit at instead, and it was fine!

We're probably not doing the bouquet or garter toss. I'm the last of my GF's to get married, so there aren't any single ladies left. We may do an anniversary dance instead. Not 100% sure yet.

I'm not doing the garter or boquest toss. I was going to do the anniversary dance, but my graanfather just passed aaway 6 months ago and he and my grandmother would have been married the longest (62 years), so it would be too sad for her and my family. I'm still not sure what I'm going do with the boquet.
