My friend made up a poem for it and I framed that next to the wishbowl.

I love the pics of your wishbowl...I was thinking of doing one also...would you mind sharing the poem?

I did the plate and love it. I use it for special occassions and the guests ooh and ahh over it. Im having a bookshelf built in my house and making a special place to display it. :D The only problem is that my husband never wants me to use it!

I have a friend who used those guestbook sheets and they were big a flop...no one filled them out!! Not to say that is the case with everyone but her guests didnt bother which was very sad for her.

The poloroid guestbooks are really cute..especially if you have a fun group who will make some wacky faces :D

Ive been to weddings where the couple puts out a coffee table book of their city or their honeymoon desitination and have people write in their best wishes in that.

Wow, now I am definitely doubting doing it. Someone else replied on an earlier post of mine that they had about 50-60 people fill it out (out of 130). So I think it depends on the crowd. But I'd hate to end up with nothing. I'll have tothink about that.

i did the martha stewart wishbowl and it was a hit. i got some great advice and tips and wishes. i love reading them.

I bought a cheap vase and decorated it with a ribbon.

My friend made up a poem for it and I framed that next to the wishbowl.

Then I just bough plain notecards and decorated them with a stamp.

and Voila, it was a hit

BTW, I also did the traditional guestbook on the other side of the table.

Sonia - your wish bowl was so pretty - would you share what the poem said?

Re: Anybody have any inventive ideas for guest sign-in?

i would like to have a polariod camera set up next to the guest book and have people take their pictures and then paste it to a comment they make in the book. im not sure if it will be easy to pull off though

thanks for the compliments guys! i found a couple poems online while planning my wedding -

1)'Share your advice with Tanya and Troy, For a blissful marriage full of Joy'.

2)'Please leave us a note,
please drop us a line,
add advice on marriage,
to stand the test of time.'

3)'Instead of a guestbook stuck in a drawer, Jen and Bill thought they would do more. Please write them a note, a wish, or greeting. On the plane to San Juan, it will make for good reading! Or if you prefer, some advice would be nice, on how to stay married and keep the spice

I sent those to my friend and this is what she came up with (and what I used)

- Congrats to the newlyweds & Welcome to their wishbowl
- They are officially now 2 bodies with just one soul
- Now grab a pen, make a wish and help them out
- Let them know what love and marriage is all about
- Give them advice laughs and more....
- maybe theyll listen to it and see whats in store
- Thoughts, experience and wisdom will do..
- Help make their lives a dream come true
- Now close your eyes, smile and make a wish!
- Write away and drop it in the bowl or dish!

I just formatted and printed it nicely and framed it .. i loved it!
