Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
My FH tried that, but that's sh!t isn't going to fly. I told him that he can pick whatever band he's most comfortable with. He's even considering gettinga band tattooed on his left finger. That would be fine with me. As long as he acknowledges the fact that he's a married man, then I don't care if the ring is gold, silver, platinum or ink.

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
Mine said no (something about his knuckles being big or something). So I said I wouldn't wear one either, and he should know I would get hit on a lot more than he did when I was single! He then agreed to wear the ring To me it is a sign of commitment, and I was hurt when he even mentioned he wouldn't. I would tell him how important it is to you (if it is).

Mine can't waer his to work- he's in construction and could wind up hurting himself if he had any jewelery on.

Tell him to get a ring with a small width (mm). & see if he is comfortable with that..
Good Luck!!!

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
My FH won't be able to wear his to work because he is an electrician and they are not allowed but it was his idea to get a tattoo instead. He will also get a wedding band and wear that whenever he isn't at work.

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
My FI has no reasonable excuse like you ladies mentioned. I've had a talk with him, but he just does not see how a ring represents his commitment to me. HELP!!

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
I don't really have any advice, I just don't know how men don't understand how important the ring thing is. When I was single I always checked to see whether a guy had a ring to see if he was available! I think he needs to wear one, if only to let the whole world see he is off the market Would he be open to the tattoo idea?

So does mine, but I keep begging him too. We compromised and are getting him a titanium ring - it makes him feel tougher

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
My FH doesnt have a problem with the ring thing, he never wears jewelry but he seems to be looking forward to the ring thing.
But my dad, as far as I know, never wore a wedding band! Its really not his style. I dont think it ever really bothered my mom.
I dont think I would let me FH get away with that but remember the commitment isnt in the ring, its in the heart!
The ring is simply your way of informing the world!

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
FI will not wear a ring at work because he's in construction and he really doesn't like jewelry so I don't think he'll even wear it very often. It does not offend me because I do not wear my e-ring at work either and yes, i do sometimes forget to wear the ring on weekends.

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
Miss M- my fh (husband)is not a jewelry person either, however, we got him a comfort fit ring that he wore for our civil ceremony and he has never taken it off.
We were not going to wear our wedding bands until after we got married in the church but with the comfort fit you really don't feel that its there. I would ask him to @ least try one on before making that decision.

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
we went and he picked out a ring that he liked. so i asked him how long he thinks he's going to wear it. he laughed a said a month or so. i kinda already figured that. and he's a cpa so there's no problem wearing it to work all day sitting behind a computer!
to be honest, it really doesn't bother me that much. my dad never wore his either. if fh isn't comfortable with it on and doesn't want to wear it..... oh well.
he did get a comfort fit so maybe that will give me one more month.

My fh doesn't wear jewlery either and thinks it is going to be 'annoying' wearing a ring...but he really doesn't have a choice!

Re: Anybody's FH NOT going to wear a ring?
My FH got a wedding band but claims he is probally only going to wear it for a couple of months. I honestly dont even know if I would want him wearing it to work (he works in a fish market).
I really cant say anything to him B/c I cant wear my engagement ring to work either and I often forget to put it on when I get out of work or on my days off.

My DH isn't a jewelry person either, but he said he'd try it for a little while to get used to it. Honestly, it won't bother me if he doesn't wear it. I know he loves me, and like someone else said, the comittment is in his heart!
