I'm trying to think of areas to save $$ and I was thinking of making my own invitations! Is anyone else thinking of doing this? Do you think it'll be more of a hassle than it's worth?

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
I have no doubt it's going to be a project & 1/2, but I am going to do them... In April I'm going to make our STDs... If that is a nightmare I may order the invites, but I'm really thinking of making them, I even priced out my options

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
Any idea where you're getting the invitations from? I know wilton has premade ones, I saw them at AC moore tonight and you just pop it in your printer. Or are you really going to make them?

I 'm thinking of the plain ones from Target that you print out, tying a bow on them boxing them up & mailing them out & w/ shipping still less than having someone else print them

you're the 2nd person that mentioned target, I'll have to check it out. I'm trying to figure out how much of the crafts I can do myself to make up for the expense of the chair covers!

I'm doing so many DIY, partly b/c I want to make sure they're excatly what I want, plus saving $$ is always good, that way we can apply it elsewhere...

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
yea i am doing mine. Design all aspects of printed materials for the wedding. Printing them at the print shop i work out and i am thinking of buying a small ebosser to emboss them slightly.
Will start work in january for the std's and invites. I have to say if you do a single or double panel invites with response card and envelopes its cheaper to print it out on your ink jets and then decorate them.

I want to make my own too! I think it will be alot cheaper and I love how Camacho did hers. She has instructions on how she made them in her wedding review.
She gave these sites that you can order your parts from:
invitesbyyou.com or cardsandpockets.com
I'll probably look at AC moore too!

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
I bought a box of 50 invites, envelopes, RSVP cards and eveything for $29.95 @ Michael's. I changed my mind on invites and am ordering the pocket folders for $1.60 each and making them. Printing the invites and gluing them to the pocket folders. So excited!

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
I have not looked into the cost of buying invitations, considering you invite say 150 people, that would be appox 75 invites
Does anyone know the price for a good quality invitation maybe with a bow?

I am making my own invites. You will save more than half the coast. Do a little research and compare the prices and you will see the divides. It's a very big divides.

I haven't really thought about the wedding invitations yet, but we're definitely making our own invitations for the e-party. We're also getting an invitation package at Michael's for $30 - they have so many pretty invites!

Re: anyone considering making their own invitations?
im going to try to make my own because i looove crafts and i think it will be fun. besides itll save some $. i like camachos pocketfolds...they came out soooo awesome...so i figure i could do something too. my moh is a designer so she's going to help me which i think will make it easier.
worst case u can try making one and see how it comes out.
im going to get quotes from a few places to see how much of a price difference there is and then really make my decision.
