I know I'm only expect like 120 guest max at my wedding so I'm obviously not getting a large ballroom no matter where I go.
When I see the rooms I am being given set up at the number I have I just feel like every table is on top of one another.
In the case of Fox Hollow 1/2 of 2 tables were on the dance floor already making a tiny dance floor near impossible to use.
Douglaston Manor is beautiful and I have yet to see it set for my amount of guest but I can't help but feel it's going to be crampy.
CLM I am seeing set soon, I'm really hoping it's not the case like the others.
I can't afford to have the amount of guest the larger rooms require. This is probably why I can't choose a hall. I'm just so unhappy with every room they offer me for my amount of people.
Anyone else feel this way or experiencing this problem?

Why don't you change the time of year you get married in that way everything is a lot cheaper and you might be able to afford a better place?

I can't have a winter wedding cause my grandparents are old & unable to travel during it. It's easier for them to get around in the warmer months.
And I'm sort of set on having a outdoor ceremony... I really don't know what to do.

Dont base your decision on an outdoor ceremony. I hate to say it...but you cant guarantee the weather...and i've seen sooo many people base a decision on the outdoor ceremony...and then it rains and that whole idea is eliminated. I'm sorry you are having so much trouble finding a place. Something will come up...you will find the perfect place : )

I've been looking into Sunday afternoon & Evening already. I'm not even considering a Saturday & Friday is just a bit hectic for most people.

i know that larkfield manor has a smaller room. we didnt see that room because we are having more people so we went to the bigger room. but i saw the video and that room looks like a nice size and the dance floor didnt look small either. i dont know. they have a video on their website so you can look at it. and the outside cermony is so nice.

Thats a bit far out on the island for me & most of guests to travel. I live in Nassau Count on the Nassau/Queens border.

I have 120 and didn't feel that way at all. Saw a few places that were set up for my amount of people. Sunset Harbor had a nice layout, West Lake Inn felt HUGE, Riverview had a nice layout...i'm just making sure they only sit 10 people per table, 12 was too much. East Wind was nice and spacious.

I'm preferring Nassau but as far into Suffolk I am willing to go is Lindenhurst for CLM. Anything else is a bit of drive for me & most of my guest.
I'm just hoping I can see CLM & Douglaston set for around my amount of people. It seems I will possible sacrifice dance floor space at douglaston. I'm nto the dancing type, it doesn't matter to me but it does to a lot of my guests.

My mom went to a wedding there and thought it was wonderful, but it's almost an hour drive if not a tad bit more.. especially with traffic.

I'm trying to think of nassau halls... metropolitan, sans souci, maybe the swan club?

Re: Anyone else feel like their getting screwed?
I agree, I had the same feelings when I was looking at halls. I was staring to feel bad bc at all the places I looked at, they made the huge rooms look beautiful and desireable, but there was no way I could reach the minimums in them. You may have to switch some of your preferences around (time of day, day of the week) so they will be more accomodating to you. But don't get discouraged though! It will all work out and someone might even surprise you and work really well with want you want. Good luck!

What about the Riviera? I know that's supposed to be nice for a small- to average sized wedding.
ETA that they do outdoor ceremonies, also on the water.
