Anyone else freaking out about how they're going to pay for their wedding?!

So, as every day passes and I get closer and closer to my wedding date I freak out more and more about how much money this is going to cost us compared to how much money we actually have!! I've decided that I hate Long Island and I wish I lived in Kansas or something because I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to get married there! How do I have the wedding of my dreams when everything is sooooo expensive! There's only 7 1/2 months to go! I think I'm freaking out! I need to hit the Lotto or something! Or rob a bank....or sell my body on the streets! PLEASE tell me someone else understands how I feel so I know I'm not the only lunatic worried about paying for a wedding!!!!

I don't worry all the time, but every once in a while I worry about how much the wedding will cost.
The holidays are a big concern. I have to fly to my parents twice in two months and the tickets aren't cheap. I'm already hoping for a big tax return!

I am hoping that it will all work out! We keep trying to save $$ while leaving deposits for the new vendors . I am worried about the holidays too, we are hoping everyone will understand why they are getting smaller presents than they normally would. It can make you really sad if you let it all get to you. My FI says it will all work out and I just have to trust that it will.

every month its tuition time for my son, and daughter,(2/4) then car note, rent, everything else, ..... then wedding everytime i go to the bank i get sick to the stomach. but then i try to relax, and think that some how some way things will work out...THEN I COME BACK TO REALITY! (i guess the house will b put on hold AGAIN,for another year)

the holiday thing upset me- All of your families shouldn't expect gift this year (except for your on childern)
I had had other friend complaining about this- and going into debt over getting there parents a gift- what kind of parent would want you to do that!
they should all give you money to put towards the wedding!

Like others said.. You are sooo NOT alone. I freak out from time to time. I've considered getting a 2nd job.. a higher paying job..you name it. We have been engaged for a year & a half and Im very proud of the money we have accumulated so far. The min we got engaged, we started saving. We cut back on alot of things, but the car payments & credit cards bills keep coming. It hard. Especially when we are paying for everything-from soup to nuts all by ourselves. Im sure that everyting will work out for you both in the end. Everybit you save counts.

I don't usually shop early, or set a budget for gifts that matter, but this year I am going to do a lot more planning. Last year I spent a lot on each gift, this year I won't be spending nearly as much. Outlets here I come!

I feel better! At least it's not just me! it's just so hard...just when i feel like we have a nice chunk of change in the bank, we have to pay another vendor. and it's almost like we're right back at square one. Why are weddings sooooooooooooo expensive? Part of me feels like is this really worth all this money just for 6 hours out of your life? but then there's the other part of me that's like, hey! we deserve a nice wedding! and that's the thing....we're having a NICE wedding. not an EXTRAVAGANT wedding...nothing over the top....and it's STILL costing us a lot of money! i can't think about it anymore. all i can do is pray somehow it will all work out in the end and we won't be bankrupt as a result!

yes, it's ridiciulous how expensive everything wedding related is! and it's soooo hard to save money. but with careful budgeting hopefully it can be done.

Every day - - - - I just begged my mom to 'borrow' money from what will one day be my inheritance from my grandparents I just can't finagle the numbers in a way that makes it doable on our own...

i freak everyday. we try to save 500 each per month and we are still very short. he tells me he feels like we are a business not a relationship anymore because all we do is fight about how we will manage to pay it off. i know my parents will lend us the money, but i really wanted to pay off the entire wedding so the money we get will be the start of savings for a house. if i start dipping before i even get it, well never be able to afford a house. y is everything so expensive, I CANT TAKE IT!!! sorry for the vent it just drives me crazy how much everything cost.

You dont wanna live in Kansas. Too much corn would make your digestive system go nuts. Not a no-carb friendly place to be.

You are totally not alone.....we actually argue about this topic because my FH seems so relaxed about the whole situation as if this money will just land in our laps, lol.

Like it has been suggested....make a plan...get a budget going. I was extremly freaked out and then I made a budget. Most of the time the budget seems to choke the life out of me...I am always feeling broke, but at least I know it will all be worth it in the end.
May as well get used to the 'poor' feeling cuz right after the wedding its time to save for the house. always something!
But it's all good.

we have so many different budgets...wedding, school loans, my car, honeymoon, HOUSE.
ugh.
we've been really good about saving. opening an ING account each has saved us SO much money--and the interest we make on it is RIDICULOUS. (FM for details)
just make sure you are saving a lot each month. and don't get a lot of 'extras'--we're not doing any extras--no favors, no chocolate fountain, no viennese hour, no printed napkins, etc. yeah, it's all nice, but not necessary and saves us a lot.
we've started to pay off our hall--like $1000 a month. it'll help with the big payment that's due at the end.
