anyone else get mistaken for younger than they are?

Original post by SummerBride10

Because I do all the time!!!

Last night I was asked for ID to buy lotto tickets. A few months ago, I was asked for ID for an R-rated movie.

Last year, I worked in a high school. I was asked for my hall pass.

Sometimes people make me feel like I'm 16. Once is enough!!

plleassseee I'm always being asked how old I am especially when people find out that I'm getting married, it's actually really annoying. I went to a dress shop a few months back because FH's little cousin was having a sweet 16 party and the lady that worked their asked me what I needed a dress for and I said a sweet 16 and she thought that it was my sweet 16 I was like whaaaaat?? lol come on I might look young but not 16 people......lol

FH also has this same problem, he'll get ID for cigarettes sometimes

FH does all the time. He is 31, and the best is we went to Stew Leonards to pick up stuff for New Years, and the woman behind the counter refused to believe his ID was real.

He hands it to her, she looks at it, looks at him and tells him 'now let me see your real ID' 'this is my real ID' 'no its not, be serious. Now give me your real drivers license' 'it is my real drivers license, I really am 31.' 'there is no way you are.'

Me 'no, he really was born in 1977'.... lady 'SHUT UP, are you SERIOUS!'

Yeap.. especially that alot of the girls i work with at the restuarant are between 18-23. Everyone just assumes I am one of the young ones. Then they see the bling and make comments on how shouldn't i wait a little while before i get married. Ummm hunny I am 28!

Yes all the time!!! I went to pick up my son in school and the teacher asked me if I was here to pick up my brother. I said No thats my son. BTW I have 3 boys. Oldest is going to be 12 in march.

Another time I went to court to represent a client who was 18 in court but it was last minute because my superviser was late, so I was in jeans and sneakers. The judge told me to sit down behind the gate because girlfriends are not allowed to sit by the person. I was like thats not my bf thats my client. lol CRazy.

Yes all the time. I went looking for a decorator for my wedding with my fiance and mother in law and the lady at the store thought I was looking to hire a decorator for my sweet 16.

i get ID'd all the time. people don't think i look 30. i had one guy ID me for lotto and looked at my license and said 'wow, 1979'. i was like yea, i'm 30. but i guess that's a good thing that i don't look that old

I get mistaken for being older. When my fiance and I met I was 19 and he thought I was 25 cause I seemed so mature and carried myself like I was older than I was. When he found out I was a year younger than him he was sooo excited!

It's weird though....my mom always looked older than she really was untill she passed 27 and always looked about 5 - 10 years younger than she really is. maybe I'll get that too!
