anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
we cant agree on anything! first of all we are getting married in august..so that rules out some places to begin with..fh basically just wants to go to europe..and i basically want to go anywhere but there (no offense to anyone going there- i juts dont want to) i want to be able to relax on a beach with a tropical drink in my hand when we want but be able to go and do a bunch of activities if we want..i know that there are some beaches in europe but i feel like its just not the same..i wanted water activities (swimming with dolphins, parasailing, etc..) and im sure if we do go to europe there will not be any relaxing on beaches..anyone having the same kind of issues? anyone have any suggestions?

Re: anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
We were in the same situtation, I felt exactly like you especially since FH and I have never been on a real vacation together, I wanted to enjoy our HM. SO...we decided to compromise, we knew we wanted a 2 week HM. The first week we are going to Italy and spending time in Florence and Rome, hopefully with time for Venice, the 2nd week, we are going to the Almafi Coast/Positano and relaxing by the beach. It may not have all the amenities as a beach resort, but hey its a compromise! Hope this idea helps!

Re: anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
Our issue was that the place we wanted to go to was all booked by the time we went to book : ( We were upset and looked into the second choice, only to find THAT was booked too. So, we chose a third place that we both know we'll relax, enjoy and make great memories at. HM planning isn't the easiest thing on the list to do....some would think otherwise.

we were originally going to greece, but we wanted the same things that you mentioned. I did not want to sight see on my hm. I wanted to relax on the beach. So we decided on aruba. Thankfully fh is as big a beach bum as I am if not bigger. Just explain to fh how you do not envision your hm sight seeing and traveling to different places. Tell him if he agrees to an island you can have a lot more sexxx

we were in the same boat for a while until we finally just agreed the other day! I want to go to Europe and he doesn't know where he wants to go. Well, we have decided to go to Paris
we're also getting married in August.
consider Greece!! You will absolutely love the beach in the islands. We were there last year.
Goodluck!

What about the French or Spanish Riviera???
OH WAIT ACTUALLY- most places in Europe CLOSE for portions of the summer....you might want to check into that before you decide on anything....
St. Maartin has a French and a Dutch side too....I heard its beautiful there!

Re: anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
we are. it's hard because i see all these brides going on extravagant honeymoons and by the time we finish paying for this wedding who knows what we will have left for a honeymoon. we want to book and pay for all the important wedding vendors first and THEN worry about the honeymoon...which means it will be a last minute thing. I know we're getting help with the wedding but don't want to rely on anything since we have no idea how much help we will get. so we need to think economical...but we don't want to be in some dump either.

Re: anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
that's funny, FH and I had the same argument, he really wants to do europe which sounds amazing, but not as my honeymoon. I want to be able to lie on the beach for a week without having to go sightseeing or running around. I think we pretty much agreed on Hawaii, have you suggested that to your FH? Tell him you both can do Europe next year

Re: anyone else having issues choosing a honeymoon place?
For anyone planning a European cruise, just to let you know, we called in September/October to book for July '08 and there was NOTHING left.....well, the presidentail suite was, but who could afford that? lol The second cruiseline we wanted was all booked too! If you are a late '08er and would like a cruise around Europe, book now! lol
