Anyone else marrying one?

Re: Anyone else marrying one?

I understand where your coming from but someone once said to me that the gun is for protection and that if someone breaks into your house you can't tell them to hold on and let me get my gun out of the safe..maybe if he can at least put it in his night table or somewhere that you wont have to see it!!

No. But I would definitely feel the same way about them laying around the house. That kinda stuff makes me sooo nervous so I'd probably have a heart attack everytime I saw it out.

i wouldnt like it either.....he needs to get in the habit of putting it away especially if you babysit or have friends/relatives children over or if you guys plan on having children one day........i think its better that he gets into the habit now.....he should respect your wishes - how hard is it for him to put it away? it sounds like he is just being lazy to me. i wouldnt want to see one laying around all the time either.......

I'm not marrying a cop but alot of my uncles are cops and my grandfather was a jewler so he carried his gun EVERYWHERE.

While I do agree that he should be putting it in a safe place (not a random chair) IMO you really should seriously consider going to the range at least once. Handling a gun in a controled enviornment might diminish some of the mystique surrounding it and make it not-so-scary for you. It will be hard but it is probably smart to know how to work it, just in case.

fh keeps his on his waist most of the time. he says that's the safest place for it to be. if not he puts in a carbinet in the bedroom. once or twice i've seen it laying on the edge of the bed with his clothes. i'm not scared but i don't touch it though! imight get annoyed if he leaves it on the kitchen counter though!

the only time the gun will scare me is when we have kids. For Christmas one of his gifts was a safe based on his finger print.

It has it pros and cons.
