I was thinking about this last night, due to a friends current situation.....FH is self employed, and every day, it seems to be getting more apparent that we are locked into a 'morgtage' so to speak, with our catering hall...it's SCARY!! I'm freaking to the point of not wanting the wedding anymore!! AMnyone else feel like this?

Its scary...but as long as you're good with your saving until then, and don't get in over your head, you'll be fine!!!

It is nerveracking because of the way the economy is how most people's jobs are taking a hit but we'll pull thru it. It might take awhile and it's really rough right now for a lot of people but things will turn around one day. It effects so many areas of our lives too including budgeting for a wedding and being able to get bills and mortgages paid. My fh knows how it is, he's taking a real hard hit working in the mortgage business right now and it makes our commitments to everything kinda scary.

i am totally there with you. even though my parents have said they will pay for the RH, no one knows what may happen in the time being. i am still in school so i am only working part time & its hard to save right now. my plan is to save as much as possible until i graduate in june & then once i have my full time position go into crazy saving mode.

I kind of freak out like every other week, especially with buying a house and paying for the wedding, I usually go to FH and ask if we can afford all of this and handle it. He does a great job of reassuring me that we can-i believe him-I think I will be freaking out even more this time next year when all the final payments will be due

nervous is the understatement of the century... At least my wedding is almost 2 years away so we have plenty of time to save, but for everyone else who only has a little over a year left I dont envy you!! With everything being so uncertain in the economy its scary to think about losing a job or anything else like that.

I go through this almost daily. I am ok with the RH...b/c my parents are paying for most of it. But the vendors will cost just as much..if not more than that...so I am having a hard time committing to anything.

Every day. I worry about making the payments on my own for next few months since FH is primarily saving to get himself a decent car.
I worry that one of us might lose out jobs. They laid off 12 people in my firm (total from 7 offices). They say it's the end of the lay offs but who really knows.

every day. worried about us, even worried about my parents (they are paying for half of the RH). It's scary out there. Glad we have the amount of time we do to save.
