I'm not. I'm afraid of adding more expenses to our already over budget wedding lol. Since most of my family lives out of town (lol for my JERSEY relatives NYC seems like another world!), and my parents live out of the country AND since we have such a SMALL group of REALLY close friends we didnt plan on doing one. but now i kinda want to lol maybe a small cookout at FH's Parent's house in the summer time?

speaking on behalf of my sis...she's not having one but we are having some family over for a BBQ this summer as a mini e-party. Just something small and fun and pretty inexpensive.

We are not having an eparty either. We live in MD and all of FH's family is here, while all of my family is in NY. It breaks my heart that I am not there with my family 24/7, however, we both felt that it would be asking too much of our family and friends to feel it necessary to get us an egift and shower gifts and wedding gifts.
Also, we don't have the money to throw one. I believe both families are each throwing me a shower, so I will have two showers and we are doing a Jack and Jill get together in lieu of bachelor/bachelorette patiers, so we feel that is more than enough pre-wedding events for us and our guests!!

We didn't. Nobody offered to throw it and we are already doing the wedding solo and going all out with over 250 expected guests and about 300 invited. It just wasn't something doable but I am ok with that - less obligations for our friends/family.

We're not having one. We decided that it wasn't worth the expense since we're getting married within the same year of our engagement. We rather put all our $$ into the wedding.

I think a small cookout in the summer is a GREAT idea. An E-party doesn't have to be super fancy. Best of luck!

We are not having one. We are paying for the wedding ourselves with a small contribution from my parents. I don't expect them to throw us one. We are fine without one but it would be nice if I had a backyard that was big enough to host a small party. For all of the girls doing the BBQ thing, I think it's a great idea!

i didn't. i think of it as something fun but something i don't have to have. if someone wanted to throw me one (and i knew this person could handle it financially) i would jump on it!

We went back and forth with it...but at the end of the day we didnt want to make people spend more money on us. We just felt a little weird about it...

FH never even heard of an engagement party before and thought it was a stupid idea. We had a small one and while it was nice I didn't really enjoy it that much because my childhood dog died the week before. I wasn't in the partying mood, but since I live in Florida and can only come back up to NJ at limited times we had the party anyway. I felt like it was kind of a waste because of the poor timing

We're not having one. We just have nowhere to do it :( we had a family dinner though and my parents got us a congrats cake so it was cute. My grandma and FH's grandma gave us engagement gifts which were very nice tho!

FH never heard of one, and I've only been to 1 my whole life so the thought never really entered my head until I came here. Once I started seeing how cute everyone was doing their little parties I wanted one, but its not in the budget and its not something we REALLY wanted. I rather spend the extra money on a vacation or something
