And disappointed? Don't get me wrong.. Bruce is BRUCE, but I could have heard a few less of his new stuff and taken the old...

That was my beef with him at Giant's Stadium. He lacked a lot of the flow in the playlist from the last tour. I don't mind the stuff from the Rising, great music...but he was slow. Even Born to Run kind of lagged...it just wasn't the same. I decided not to go to Shea for that reason, I didn't want to ruin my memories of the slamming Bruce shows I'd been to prior!

How was the set up at Shea? Was the sound good?

Also...I heard it got WAY political....I can't stand it when he uses the stage that way.

another thing i was complaining about - the SOUND! the bass muffled his voice so badly! i was sooo annoyed that i couldn't even listen to him in the car this morning! i had been listening to his greatest hits all week hyping myself up for THAT? see.. and i thought it was just that he dislikes new yorkers! i had seen him at the meadowlands years ago and it just didn't compare... Born to Run - you couldn't be more RIGHT! Arrrggghhhh.... But I have to say that the stadium was swaying for that song... bc people were so tired of hearing songs that weren't familiar to them! His encores were pretty bad tho... I actually left during the 3rd encore! And I NEVER leave his show early... BIG disappointment!

Re: Anyone else see Springsteen last night?

It's not a NY thing...it was this tour. He was exactly like that at Giant's Stadium. The last tour he was ROCKING. It was insane....the show was a teeny bit shorter but packed with the most amazing songs, mixed with new stuff. I think it was an arena vs. stadium thing. He just doesn't have the same effect in a stadium anymore. He could make Giant's Stadium blow up 20 years ago...but now it just gets lost in all that space for some reason.

MAN! I hope he's not losing it!
I still love him... but there were many things that annoyed me last night... like the politics you mentioned. Wrong place and time. Save that for The O'Reilly Factor...

He went overboard with that...did he really ask everyone to scream if they wanted to impeach the president?

Re: Anyone else see Springsteen last night?

just asked a guy i work with and he said he didnt hear that either... maybe it was something mumbled into the mic... so that only the orchestra section could hear it.
