I don't want to go into too much detail, but for you girlies who received 'no' responses, did they shock you. I just opened one and I had to read it like three times cause I couldn't believe they said no.

Oh yeah. I got one of those. Plus there wasn't even a note or little message on it, just checked off 'NO'

Re: Anyone else shocked by a 'no' response
yea, that happened to me. i was surprised and upset, and i wasn't given a reason, which i think made me more mad. but on the flip side, i did receive some yes's from some people that i wasnt expecting to say yes (my dad's family, who are all OOT and didnt think they could afford to come to NY)

Re: Anyone else shocked by a 'no' response
I always get offended and annoyed when people tell me that they can't come to stuff, so I'm not looking forward to getting any no responses...
FH just asked me 'what if everyone says yes?' yeah right!!!

Yeah I was surprised by a no... But it was a pleasant surprise. I didn't really care for this person to be there anyways... The persons from my side not fh's. :)

Re: Anyone else shocked by a 'no' response
yes As most of you know, after I got engaged, my Dad got sick and eventually died of cancer. at my Father's funeral, his BEST FRIEND, whom he was in a Holocaust camp with..there everyday at his deathbed, got mad at me cuz I told him to wait a minute upon speaking to me b/c the guy running the funeral home wanted someone to identify the body from the hospital and I ran cuz I didn't want my MOM to be the one. He tells my sister he's mad even after she got done explaining what I was doing. I never apologized, thinking ok he gets it now. and you know what, that DAY at my FATHER'S funeral, I think I had a license to act how I wanted to.
He replied no as did his two sons who my Father LOVED and did anything for. No explination or anything.
I am devastated.

OMG, that is just terrible. I'm so sorry for you. Have you tried to reach out to the sons? Maybe they would be more receptive to seeing what went on and can work on their dad for you.

Re: Anyone else shocked by a 'no' response
Only one... A cousin from my dad's side. Who isn't coming because she's not talking to some of my other cousins.
In other words, she can't be bothered to put her big girl panties on and get over it for one day.
Her loss not mine. She can sit and be miserable at home while everyone else is at my wedding!

Re: Anyone else shocked by a 'no' response
we have been shocked to say the least about some 'no' responses. & just because i do not want to get all upset over it again, I am going to leave it at that.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that, that's really horrible of them. I can't believe someone would be so petty!
We haven't gotten any really shocking No's and even if we did, I understand that people have things going on in their lives and my wedding isn't a huge priority to anyone but FH and myself. If it was a no from my best friend or my parents I'd be hurt, but anyone else . . . eh? We have been surprised by several Yes's that weren't completely expected. Our guest list might wind up larger than expected!
