I woke up and smelled this terrible smell, alot of people from work who live in queens said they smelled it too, like something burning....

I guess I'm oblivious. We live in Flushing and I work in Astoria and I didnt notice anything

Me too! I am in Valley Stream,,,,it smelt like leaves burning!
Same here Im in VS and smelt it!!!

OMG I smelt it when I left for work this morning and then at work in South OZone PArk it was even worse! We smelt it all day and even my kids were complaining becuase the windows were open and the smell was coming into the classroom! Weird!

That's so weird someone i work with smelled it in patchogue and in port jeff today.
I live in New Hyde Park -- near the Queens border. My mom and I noticed that smell too, but couldn't figure out what it was or where it was coming from.
