Anyone ever eaten at the following restaurants?

Anyone ever eaten at the following restaurants?

Nocello's in Northport
Pomodorino in Hauppauge
Casa Rustica and La Familigia in Smithtown
Garden Grill in Smithtown
Sweetwaters Bar & Bistro in Hauppauge

They are places I am looking into for my RD.

Any other suggestions for a RD place for about 35 - 45 people that is 'reasonable' (aka under $30pp) in the East Northport/Commack/Smithtown/Hauppauge area.

Thanks

The only place I have eaten was Sweetwaters. It was really good.. food was excellent. But it was WAY too expensive for us, we thought about using it for the RD too. If you can afford it, go for it! The private room in the back is nice, otherwise it's a very loud bar scene (especially on nights when they have live music). Great food and drinks, though!

i attended a RD at Pomodorino in Hauppauge and i thought it was great. we had our own room off to the side and the service and food were terrific.

Can only say I've eaten at Nocello's (just last week!) it's ok not great though. i always feel like it's so dark in there for some reason..
In February, my sister hosted her son's christening at Casa Rustica and that was great. we were in this adorable room off the back of the restaurant and it was very private. the decor was so nice and the food was terriffic (so was service)
as for the other restaurants, i am not sure, never eaten at them.
by the way (this is totally unrelated, sorry) how come your name is Kidlib (are you a children's librarian by any chance??) sorry, just wondering!!
good luck in choosing i am sure the other girls can help you out too!

That's good to hear about Pomodorino...they have the most reasonable prices so far. One place I called wanted $45.00 pp NOT including drinks!

Good Guess about my screen name!!! I am a children's librarian

I've eaten at Pomo's & Sweetwaters...both very good - the latter is VERY pricey for what they offer, imo.

My friend had her rd at Pomo. The atmoshpere was great and we had a nice time. I have to add this* I do not eat meat and when they brought out the penne ala vodka I said no thank you and was waiting for the next course. They asked why and I told them. they then insisted that there was no meat in it. As I started to eat it I realized right away that there was and almost threw up on the table. I just had to add that...sorry.
It is a very nice place and I would go back I would just stick to veggie dishes.
Good luck

I went to a RD at Nocello's. It was ok, it reminds me of an older person's restaraunt (my grandparents love it).

I have eaten at Casa Rustica and Garden Grill. Casa Rustica is an upperscale restaurant. Always loved the food there. Garden Grill is more casual of a restaurant and the food is ok.

Thanks for all the info. I'll have to take FH out to Pomodorino's soon to check out their food.

I've eaten at Nochello's in Northport and thought the food was really good. I've also been to the Garden Grill for my friends rehersal dinner and thought it was great. They gave us the room upstairs which was nice.

I have eaten at a bunch of them -
Nocello's - Good food, reasonably priced, but it is kind of dark in there.
Casa Rustica - Awesome food, service, etc. but expensive.
Garden Grill - I've never eaten there but DH's parents love it.
Pomodorino's - Good food, reasonably priced.
Sweetwaters - DH has been there and said it was good but I have never tried it.
Have you checked out Polini's on route 347 in Hauppauge (next to Pace's)? They have great food and, if I am recalling correctly, they charged my SIL only $15 or $20 per person for the christening party she had for her son last summer.

La Famiglia is really good! I've eaten there a few times with friends. It is family style so the portions are HUGE!!! Not too pricey - excellent food and the staff is very friendly!
