i have had a few pulled, it dont hurt ,, u dont feel a thing ,, the needle for th enovacane (sp) is the only thing u feel

i have not had a tooth pulled, but in april i had a root canal. it was not that bad. i now have to have a cap put on which i am dreading.

i never had a root canal but i have had teeth pulled! Im a big baby, so of course it hurt me! lol

I had 6 root canals done my first year of med school and recently had a tooth pulled and need another (I have really weay teeth-genetics!) Anyway - It really is not that bad. I would definately get it taken care of asap! As for the tooth that is pulled - the worst part is the needle for the anesthetic - then its just ALOT of pressure - Remember to ask about replacements (bridge vs implant). The root canal is actually a little more bothersome I will admit. Don't worry you will be fine

Thanks girlies.. I have had a root canal before and it wasnt so bad.. its the tooth pulling thing that is making me sick to my stomach!!! i heard some horror stories in the past. I hope I found a good dentist. i am going to a new dentist now.. the last one I hated!!

I have to get 2 wisdom teeth pulled and I'm horrified!!!

But I hear it's not that bad and since I'll be put completely under, I think it'll be fine. Good luck and ask for the pain meds asap.

I've had 3 teeth pulled (wisdom teeth) They give u good pain killers so i was good. I never had a root canal though. Godd luck hun! And when its over I will have smores for you!

It's not that bad. I actually have to have a root canal done. All I've heard is that it throbs day one, and after that your good to go. I don't do the medication thing, so I'll be taking plain ole aspirin. Good luck!

Root canal is fine, I had no problems.

I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled at once. I was completely under so felt nothing. That part was fine. Recovery for me was rough though bc I developed a condition called 'dry socket' where the wond doesn't clot and protect the nerves so it was really painful. It's common in women that are 30 and over and take birth control pills BUT if you can get pain killers you will be totally fine. I'm allergic to pain killers so had to tough it out with plain old Advil

Make sure you get antibiotics and pain killers. With that combo you will be totally fine

I got knocked out when I had 4 of my teeth pulled to make room in my mouth for when I got braces.. SO not bad AT ALL.. I didn't need painkillers either..

I've had both done! Getting a tooth pulled is practically painless because you can just get knocked out for it. The after effect might be a little painful - but they give you medication for it. The root canal was a little bit worse - it's just so many visits to the dentist (at least 5 or 6) It's not terribly painful either, it's just a pain in the neck to have to schedule all the appointments. This is also coming from someone who ABSOLUTELY HATES THE DENTIST or anyone that works with my teeth!! You'll be fine! If I can do it you can too!!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out like 5 years ago. With a lot of novicane and some pain relievers taken immediately after leaving the dentist office, I was able to handle the pain. I had to go in two trips, so get the second 2 teeth pulled was a lot less scary.
