Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

My family and I have done ALL of the planning. I feel like he cant be bothered with things that have to get done. We need to book the RD now and once again, I am left to do it myself. Anyone else feel the same???

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Yes, sometimes I feel like this too!!!

When I ask him to do something it never gets done. So, I just do it myself!

He still has not gone down for his tux. I have to push him to do this too.

All, I can say is THANK GOD for my MOM. She is truly a blessing and helped me a Great Deal!!!

I feel your pain!!!

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Yes and no. I'm the one who has to do all the research and set up all the appts. Some of the appts. I would go with my sisters or mom to narrow down the choices and then he would make the final decisions with me. He definately gives me input which I appreciate because I know half the stuff he could care less about.

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

I have the opposite problem. I have an official groomzilla on my hands!!!! As much as I think it is adorable that my FH wants to be so involved, some things I wish I could just decide on and move on. He cares about EVERY detail, appointment, etc.!!!!

It's very sweet...but I tell him it's like two brides planning this thing!

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

My FH does nothing! He is going to school and working full time so I should sympathize some what, but one day I went to meet a vendor and he said he couldn't go because he was studying. When I came home, he was sitting on the couch watching baseball. I wanted to kill him! I think if someone quizzed him on who are venors are and what we still needed to book he would fail miserably!

YES!! Tuxes are another issue with us as well. I like getting things done early and he thinks its rediculous that I am asking him to go do the tuxes now (wedding is less than 3 months away). His ONE job and I'm sure it will be the week before.

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

If I ask him to do something, he will, it usually just takes him a REALLLY long time to finally do it!!
You have to remember, its just not the same thing for them as it is for us. Most of them would be happy running away to a tropical island to get married.

ALL THE TIME! FH is off in la la land - he has no idea how much time and $$$ I have put into this wedding. Even the things I ask him to do - I have to ask over and over again cause 'he forgets'

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Jeff is the same way... last night over Passover dinner I whispered 'Sweetie, this is our last Passover as singles' everyone thought it was so sweet and started talking about the oh-so-horrible WEDDING. He got up out of his chair and said to call him back in when we were done talking and said 'Cyn, when you're ready to cancel everything and runaway to an island to do this, let me know - I promise I won't be mad about losing all the deposit money'

We were all laughing when he walked out ...

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Yes and no. I made all the phone calls, set up all the appointments, but he came with me to almost all of them. He loves bridal showcases (go figure) and I never have to drag him around, because he comes willingly. However, ask him to actually do something, and it's like pulling teeth to get it done!!!! But, if HE wants to do something I had better jump that instant and get it done, or go with him to get it done IMMEDIATELY!!

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Mine isn't helping too much. I don't know though if I would rather have that or a Groomzilla!

He's gotten the band. He was supposed to do the honeymoon and the hotel room blocks but, I ended up having to do them (and we didn't use a travel agent for the honeymoon). He also is in charge of limos and somewhat in charge of tuxes (I guess we're going together on that one because he wants me to pick them out since he's colorblind).

Ok, I can't say that's all that he's done, he did call his aunt once and get 3 missing addresses and update our address spreadsheet.

There has to be a happy medium!!!

My guy is very involved but is also very involved in other things so sometimes I feel alone.

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

I have to say Yes and No, b/c he was very helpful is checking out all of the vendors, but now with all of the detail ansd specifics he can't be bothered. I know it is mainly because he is very busy working on our house, getting it ready for me to move in after the Wedding.
I can't tell you how many times a day though I tell him to finish asking his groomsmen. It is driving me crazy and I am tired of saying the same thing over and over again. We have 2 1/2 months to go and I have enough things to worry about, you would think that he would have taken care of this by now.
Here I made beautiful/creative BM cards to ask all 11 of my girls and made a luncheon for them and he can't be bothered to pick up the phone.

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

Do any of your guys all of the sudden get on a 'wedding' kick with a number of things he wants which means more stuff for you to do?

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

It's all about my mom and I. FI does nothing because he's just not interested at all. He'll do things when I nag and cry and beg him to and even then it's like pulling teeth. I tend to misinterpret his lack of interest in the planning as a lack of interest in getting married at all. He swears up and down that's not the case; that he's just not interested in taking care of the little details.

I should add that he booked the honeymoon and will go ring shopping with me and went to register, etc but it wasn't as if he was looking forward or volunteering to do any of these.

Re: Anyone feel like FH doesnt help with ANY of the planning?

I'm in your boat - FH wants nothing to do with the planning. On one hand it was good b/c I was able to go for invites without his two cents but on the other hand, i wish he'd be more involved.

he needs a tux too. I'm counting on his best man to help with that....
