Any one feel nervous when they are meeting with or booking a vendor that hasn't been used by a lot of girls on the boards. I know there are some very popular vendors here so when I meet with an unknown vendor I get nervous because I don't have as much feedback.

I did feel that way. Most of my vendors are not on here, BUT we went with our gut instincts and we love them all. Don't worry, go with who you feel most comfortable with, plus whoever is in your budget. GOOD LUCK!!!

Neither my photographer or florist are widely used by people on this site. But when I met with them I knew they were the right ones.

My photographer isn't a LIW vendor - but I am confident in her work.
Its def easier to go with vendors that are popular on this site.

You have to have full confidence in your vendors - whether or not they're recm'd on these boards or not.
I found a lot of vendors that no one here knew about, but then searched on the 'other' site (knot.com) and found a few...

I didn't even know LIW existed when I booked my vendors. I'm so glad I didn't...My photographer was WONDERFUL and there isn't much talk about them on these boards. All you hear about is Duet.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are many good people out there that haven't been 'discovered' by people who use this site yet - IMO some of those vendors may be more willing to work with you on budget and such if they're not as 'popular' as some of the vendors who know they get a ton of business from people on the site. I used people's recommendations as a guide for some people, but i wouldn't automatically assume a vendor isn't good just because they're not discussed on here.
Remember, you have to talk to these people about what YOU want, not what some other brides might have liked..

Some of my big vendors aren't on LIW (my hall wasn't when I booked) but I wasn't worried about their ability. My florist has been in business for MANY years- he has to be doing something right to stay in business for so long!
