Thanks girls!! It's not like I don't want to marry FH yet...i guess sometimes i'm too focused on what ppl will think...'oh you aren't done with school yet.' but the truth is i've been in school forever, finished college 2 years ago and medicine is a life long thing...so there's never going to really be a true moment where i'm 'free' for wedding planning. I mean once im done with my MD then there's residency etc. I guess sometimes i worry too much! thanks again

CLEARLY this girl just needs some reassurance. NOT to be told to wait. If they are both in med school then they will pretty much always be busy throughout the next bunch of years!!!
She isn't questioning marrying her FH.

do u ever realize that u tend to start some drama on this site...im really trying sooo hard not to be a total biotch but i get the feeling u love to say what will get a rise out of the girls on this site..do u do it on purpose?i know its hard to get someones opnion straight out because we r typing rather than speaing but if u look bac at all thedrama filled posts the last few months ur in the middle of almost all of them



as for the op..i think there is no 'correct' ag to get married..you know its right when you know its right....u could be 19 u could be 40...imo the most importat thing is when u do get married u hae not one doubt in your head that this is what u want...hth

i am just going to answer the original post.

i was 24 when we got engaged & FH was 25. i will be 26 when we get married & FH will be 27. by time we get married we will have been dating for 10 years. i was 16 & he was 17. to be perfectly honest i think we are the perfect age to get married. we have been living together for 3 years already. we will both be finished with college & will both have full time jobs.

when we celebrated our 5th dating anniversary, i was only 21, my SIL wanted to know when we would be getting married. we may have been together for 5 years already but for US we weren't ready yet.

every person & every situation is different.

i think the biggest factors that should be considered are as follows:

do you love each other?
do you know who you are?
do you know who you want to be both separately & together?

I 100% agree with Gina on both things she posted about.

She's a total attention seeker....I wish there was a way to delete someone's comments from a thread you start (like on the facebook wall).

Anyway, I don't know about there being a 'right' or 'too young' of an age to get married. People in their 'teens...are often encouraged to wait a few years (or so my priest told me) but other than that who is who to judge maturity and stability? I know LOTS of 30 somethings who are a hot mess and lots of the interns at my Bank who have their act together.

To each, their own!
ETA: I LOVE CAPS! CAPS! CAPS IN '09!

DH and I were engaged once before when we were about 25. We definitely felt too young and we obviously were since we called off the engagement. However, everyone is different and I know others that were married much earlier and were ready for it. Now at 31 I finally don't feel too young to be married Don't worry, once the wedding is over your nerves will calm down!
