Anyone getting ready for ISABEL yet? (Now with MAP)
Original post by kmcwed
I just heard on the Weather Channel that everyone on the Eastern seaboard should start making preparations for Isabel right away, candles, batteries, stuff like that--because it looks like it will most likely hit somewhere, although they're not sure exactly where yet.
Is anyone getting prepared yet?? I don't want to be the only nut who goes out and gets batteries and bottled water tomorrow...
(already have plenty of candles thanks to my latest White Barn Candle Co. raid....)

We're planning on putting the cars on the grass up next to the house. That will protect one side, and it's not in direct line from trees and limbs. Or, maybe what one friend suggested, park the car in a large parking lot where there's no chance of tree damage. Maybe the elementary school 3 blocks away. Only danger there would be stuff flying through the air.

Re: Anyone getting ready for ISABEL yet?
It looks like it's hitting us on Thursday, according to the news reports. We're going tonight to stock up on a couple of things just in case we're without power for a day. We're not going nuts with getting stuff, but we'll get some water & bread and we'll make sure we have batteries.
As far as my car goes, I'm going to make sure I park it away from the trees.

Just saw the weather channel. Looks like Friday morning will be the time it hit, IF it hits us. They still aren't sure what course it's going to take. Either way, we're in for some nasty weather. I feel so bad for all the girls who have weddings this weekend. Let's hope it just blows out to sea or something...

I was hoping it would blow out to see also but I dont think thats going to happen... something about the high pressure system keeping it inland. They keep moving the impact sight further south of here so maybe the damage won't be too bad and the weddings will be BEAUTIFUL!

I am not worried about anything. I have the supermarket right across the street from me, we have so many bottles of water (when FI was playing softball we got a case of water, just never used it), batteries we are always stocked up on.
I'll worry on Wednesday. For now, I am not too worried. The weather is always changing, so its possible we may just get some rain.
