Now I'm even more confused, because now I've got Mexico for HM in my brain. Just wondering if anyone's ever been there or are going there? Where you are staying? Etc? Can you give me any type of feedback so I can go home and discuss with my FH? I think once I get this HM squared away, I'll be able to concentrate on the other things.

Just MO but cancun isnt an ideal honeymoon spot. Puerta vallarta might be a better option.

I will have to check out your place Lisat... but for now, my FH is officially in charge of this, I'm getting heartburn worrying about the HM too! So I gave him this job earlier today!

I kinda' agree with SonicStef. Cancun is a bit commercial. You need to find the culture.
But, it's still fun with plenty to do.
And like SonicStef mentioned, Puerta Vallarta might be worth checking out. My girlfriend goes there often and loves it (and she's been everywhere!!! We have a tough time getting together with her b/c she's always in another country! ) She's been trying to talk a bunch of us into going down there for several days.

My good frient just returned from Xihautanejo and said it was AMAZING - I have been to Cancun twice before for Spring Break and I agree with Stef- it's not really a honeymoon destination per se but in Oct you won't run into drunk college kids!

My FI and I actually met in Cancun. I love it there and it's beautiful, but I don't know if it's an ideal spot for a honeymoon-unless you're big on clubs and dancing. Since you're wedding is in October you don't have to worry about a young crowd. I've gone in May and April. It was full of high school kids in May and just about empty in April. I think it would be empty in OCtober as well. If you do decide to go there and you don't want to do a resort go with the Oasis. The place is huge and the pool is amazing.
